Strider and Flava were famously members the now-defunct British hip hop group but now are making their mark in the music industry behind the scenes.
Mustafa Omar and James Murray are writing, producing and mixing music, under the name Mojam, and have produced hits for the likes Sam Smith and Emeli Sandé.
Mojam are credited for co-writing and producing the Naughty Boy feat. Sam Smith hit “La La La” as well as the singer’s fifth single from his debut album, In The Lonely Hour, “Like I Can.”
It was because their work on Sam’s album that James and Mustafa earned a Grammy award for Best Pop Vocal Album, in 2015.
The duo also co-produced four tracks from Emeli Sandé’s debut album, Our Version Events, including “Next to Me,” as well as “Hurts” from her most recent album Long Live the Angels.
Mojam have also worked with the likes Pressor Green, James Arthur and Gorgon City.
It’s through their relationship with Naughty Boy – real name Shahid Khan – that the duo have managed to work with these top class acts.
In 2014, signed a worldwide deal with Sony/ATV’s Naughty Words joint venture with Naughty Boy.
“They were the first signings to Naughty Words and they are now the first re-signings,” Naughty Boy said at the time.
It’s great as their publisher and their friend that our relationships continues. They’ve learnt a lot in the last few years and they are going to gain from that.
