The One Direction star released his debut solo single on Friday (April 7), but it failed to show up on the streaming service for several hours.
Fans took to Twitter to complain about the absence "Sign the Times" as well as it being missing from Spotify’s New Music Friday playlist.
A Spotify representative told Variety that this error occurred because “a technical issue for both Free and Premium” adding, “there should be no further issue, though users unable to play this track need to reinstall the Spotify application to remove the cache.”
While the technical glitch may have briefly hindered the popularity "Sign the Times" on Spotify, it more than made up for it on Apple Music and iTunes.
Harry's single reached No. 1 in 82 countries and reportedly took just 19 minutes to top the iTune singles chart, and on Apple Music, boasts an estimated 20 million subscribers.
Nick Grimshaw gave his pal's song its first radio play on his BBC Radio 1 Breakfast on Friday morning, which was co-hosted by Harry.
“It’s the song I’m most proud writing, I think,” Styles told the radio host during the two-hour segment.
Harry will be performing the song live for the first time on The Graham Norton Show on April 21, just under a week after he performs on US TV show, Saturday Night Live.
Harry will be debuting a brand new single on the late-night sketch show as the musical guest always performs two songs.
