Lily is preparing to release her fourth studio album this June and so far it’s been reported that her songs will reflect the struggles her family life.
The Sun claims to have heard one particular track which details hers and husband Sam Cooper’s marital breakdown.
“It’s not always easy, being a family man. Baby, don’t leave me, I’m just doing what I can to get by,” Allen is said to sing.
“I know that you love me, though I’m young and stupid. I am wild and ruthless, you’re better f without me.
“I am more than selfish, I am tired, I’m helpless. If I had the time day, I might give all my days to you.”
Lily had previously discussed how raw and open the new record is during an interview on the News Roast podcast.
“Weirdly, this album is quite insular. Mainly it’s to do with me and my relationship with my children, the breakdown my marriage, substance abuse etc.”
Allen has ten looked to her own life for creative subject matter, and in 2015 she wrote a beautiful song for her stillborn son.
Lily has been separated from husband Sam Cooper since 2014, with whom she has daughters Ethel, four, and Marnie, three.
Her last music release was in 2014, the album Sheezus, which wasn’t as big as a commercial or critical success as her previous albums.
