The One Direction star has been teasing new music for months, but after welcoming his first son with Cheryl, his solo career has been put on the back burner.
But now fans think he's confirmed what his debut single will be like after liking one their posts.
"I am going to need you take notes and feature on a Latin pop banger," a fan tweeted Liam, seemingly inspired by Justin Bieber's recent collaboration on Puerto Rican pop star Luis Fonsi's Despacito (remix).
Having liked the tweet, Payne's fans have begun speculating that his new single could very well be a Spanish-language one.
"I am screaming, but also is that his way confirming if he's going to do it," replied a fan to which the original tweeter responded, "he f**king better!"
Another fan wrote, "Liam singing in Spanish it will be my last day alive."
"Liam you need to do this OK a song in Espanol por favor," a fan tweeted.
Liam's latest tweet seemed to imply that he was ready to release his solo material, writing: "You coming or what...? Leggo."
"Leggo" is an abbretion "let's go," which could mean his debut single is just round the corner.
Back in January, Liam shared some more information about what to expect from his first solo album in a Facebook Live video.
