Liam Payne’s new song Strip That Down is all about Cheryl

Strip That Down was released on Friday and it not only was co-written with Ed Sheeran but also features US rap group Migos.

In one lyric the song, Liam and Quavo say, "You know I used to be in 1D, but now I'm out, free."

It kind sounds like the 1D star feels like the shackles being in a boyband are f and he's free to do what he wants.

However, the main meaning the song seems to be about romancing Cheryl.

"But your love, it hit me hard, girl, yeah, you're bad for my health, I love the cards, that I've been dealt, do you feel the same as well?" Liam sings later saying.

"You know, that since the day, I met you, yeah, you swept me f my feet."

Liam and Cheryl first met during the 2008 season The X Factor where he was a contestant and she was a judge and later in 2010 when One Direction was formed on the show.

It was round about the One Direction hiatus in 2015 that the couple first got together and now the two are parents to baby Bear.

“I’ve been working hard in the studio for over a year and I’m really excited to share this new music with my amazing fans," Liam said his new solo career.

"I’ve come a long way since our One Direction debut and I hope everyone likes my new sound as much as I do. 2017 has been a big year for me already and I’m looking forward to what the rest it will bring.”
