Kush K Levels Up With Fierce New Anthem "Winning"

Kush K Levels Up With Fierce New Anthem “Winning”

In the ever-evolving landscape of Australian hip-hop, few artists embody persistence and drive quite like Kush K. The Melbourne-based rapper, producer, and entrepreneur has carved out his lane by balancing raw lyricism with an unshakable work ethic. With his latest single, Winning,” Kush K takes his narrative of resilience to new heights, delivering a track that feels both personal and universal.

From the start, “Winning” hits with a sharp confidence that reflects the artist’s journey from setbacks to self-made success. Kush K has never shied away from documenting the struggles that shaped him — whether in Making Moves or his debut album The Revelations — but this new single shifts the focus toward triumph. It’s a declaration of self-belief, a celebration of overcoming doubt, and a rallying cry for anyone who’s had to fight to earn their place.

The production stays true to Kush K’s signature style: gritty, bass-heavy, and cleanly polished, thanks to his close collaboration with vocal engineer @mixedbydaniel. Interestingly, the music video was shot before the final version of the song was completed, and Kush has admitted that the visuals helped shape the energy of the final mix. That interplay between sight and sound makes Winning a multi-layered experience, more than just another single — it’s an artistic statement.

Beyond the music, Kush K continues to juggle the weight of running The HotBox Studio and co-managing Type Shit Records, all while crafting his own catalog. That balance between artistry and business is no small feat, yet it feeds into the themes of hustle and determination that define his work.

“Winning” isn’t just a flex; it’s an anthem built for longevity. In its chorus and verses, Kush delivers a message that resonates far beyond the Australian rap scene: victory belongs to those who refuse to quit. And for Kush K, it’s clear this is just the beginning of an even bigger ascent.

Kush K “Making Moves” Redefines Ambition in Australia’s Rap Scene

Kush K’s “Making Moves” Redefines Ambition in Australia’s Rap Scene

Rap’s evolving landscape finds a bold new voice in Melbourne-based rapper and producer Kush K (Kushal Anand). His latest track, “Making Moves,” from his debut album ‘The Revelations‘, showcases a fearless blend of trap and drill influences, delivering a message of unrelenting ambition and hustle. Kush K’s unapologetic tone and precision lyricism position him as a force to be reckoned with in Australia’s rap scene.

Making Moves” is a masterclass in dynamic production. Kush K’s background in sound engineering and beatmaking is evident in the track’s layered instrumentals and polished sound. The beat is energetic, with booming basslines and sharp hi-hats that mirror the urgency of his words. Kush K doesn’t just rap; he commands the track, fusing technical skill with an unmistakable swagger.

Kush K’s versatility as an artist shines throughout the track. Beyond his sharp lyricism, he demonstrates a keen ear for balancing intricate production with his vocal delivery. His ability to blend gritty storytelling with polished beats reflects the depth of his artistry, setting him apart in an increasingly crowded genre.

What sets “Making Moves” apart is its raw authenticity. Kush K draws on his journey as an independent artist, crafting a narrative that captures the highs and lows of navigating the music industry without compromise. Lyrically, the track is brimming with confidence and defiance, exemplified by lines like “I got 99 problems, and these bitches adding more” and “I turned 99 dollars to 10 thousand for a show.” These lyrics highlight his relentless drive to succeed while reflecting the grit of his self-made career.

The song’s hook is especially impactful, delivering a chant-like mantra of resilience: “I be making moves lately, running my shit daily, truly grinding for that greatness.” It’s an anthem for anyone chasing their dreams, built on the idea that success comes from tireless effort and self-belief.

Kush K’s journey to this point is just as compelling as his music. Starting as a self-taught producer with deep family ties to music, he launched TheHotBox Studio in 2020, creating a hub for collaboration and creativity in Melbourne. His debut album, The Revelations, reflects years of self-discipline and a DIY ethos that underpins his growing reputation.

Making Moves” is not just a track—it’s a statement. With its bold production, relentless energy, and lyrical depth, it solidifies Kush K’s place as a rising star in the global rap community.

Now, with Kush + Orange Juice 2 on the horizon, Wiz Khalifa is also gearing up to hit the road. His “Taylor Gang The World” tour kicks off May 20 in Nashville and will hit 20 cities, including Sacramento, Minneapolis and Kansas City. Wiz Khalifa Continues Rollout For “Kush + Orange Juice 2” With Don Toliver-Assisted “Hide It”

Wiz Khalifa‘s mixtape catalog is held in high regard and one of the reasons why is thanks to his 2010 release, Kush & Orange Juice. It remains as one of the most popular of the last decade and for good reason. It helped put the Pittsburgh native into the limelight and it’s really shaped him into the artist we know and love all of these years after it. Fairly soon, Wiz will be reviving it to some degree in the form of a sequel project, Kush + Orange Juice 2. There’s some speculation that it will arrive sometime in November, but there’s no release date set in stone.

If it does come out before the end of the year, it will be his second LP of 2024. Wiz came through sort of out of nowhere in late July with Wiz Owens. However, there was an indicator that this was a part of his lowkey plans to drop twice. That phase two is now officially Kush + OJ 2, as we already have received “Khalifa’s Home.” Now, he’s back to drop off another offering, this time with a feature. Him and Don Toliver have collaborated once before, with 2019’s “Back Up” being that other occasion. Fans were fairly lukewarm on “Khalifa’s Home,” as some felt he was straying away from what he does best. But “Hide It” may regain some of those skeptics as it a weed-smoking jam if we’ve ever heard one. It’s wavy, melodic, and catchy, and one that Khalifa’s fan base will appreciate.

Been here before and gon’ be here and thеy gon’ still love us
This ain’t no ordinary squad, these my rеal brothers
We all share tears together, got bread together
Roll somethin’ up and get my head together
Lay some clothes out and put a fit together
Might go to Harlem for some different weather

Wiz Khalifa Declares “Kush & Orange Juice 2” Will Be Classic

Many Hip-Hop and cannabis enthusiasts consider Kush & Orange Juice one of the best projects in Wiz Khalifa’s catalog. The 36-year-old rapper looks to recapture that magic with a sequel to the 2010 body of work.

Wiz Khalifa already declared Kush & Orange Juice 2 will be a masterwork. The Pittsburgh native let his 36 million X followers know to expect excellence from the upcoming mixtape.

Kush and Orange Juice 2 is a classic. Can’t wait for y’all to enjoy,” Khalifa wrote on X (formerly Twitter) On Monday (April 15). That post collected over 4,700 likes on the social media platform.

Wiz Khalifa’s original Kush & Orange Juice featured Killa Kyleon, Alborosie, Johnny Juliano, Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T. and Nesby Phips. An 18-track version of the mixtape finally made it to streaming services in November 2018.

The marijuana-themed tape’s cover art paid homage to former Temptations singer David Ruffin’s Gentleman Ruffin album from 1980. Khalifa also embraced the weed-smoker aesthetic with other projects like 2009’s Burn After Rolling.

2023 saw Wiz Khalifa drop several full-length releases. Star Power, See Ya, Khalil Sober, and Decisions arrived throughout the year. The Taylor Gang leader’s “Dress Like This” single with Backwood and Hardo came out in January.

Wiz Khalifa Claims “Kush & OJ 2” Will Be A “Classic” Like The Original

Wiz Khalifa has had a wildly successful career. He’s had pop crossovers and classic singles, but the project that best summarizes his talents is Kush & OJ. The 2010 mixtape was a perfect blend of stoner antics and lavish production, of slick talk and retro glamour. It still sounds great today, which is why Wiz Khalifa fans are leery of the fact that he’s working on a sequel. Nowhere to go but down, right? Well, according to the rapper himself, Kush & OJ 2 will live up to the hype and then some.

Wiz Khalifa hopped on Twitter amidst the diss tracks and AI-generated leaks to hype up his album. The opportune word here is “hype,” as the Pittsburgh superstar claimed to have a classic on his hands. “Kush & OJ 2 is a classic, he wrote. “Can’t wait for y’all to enjoy.” The notion of a “classic” has been on Khalifa’s mind in recent years, especially when he’s been asked to reflect on the original mixtape. The rapper sat down for a retrospective video with MTV in 2015, and he revealed that he fully intended to make Kush & OJ a career-defining release.

Wiz Khalifa Was Initially Hesitant To Make A Sequel

“It’s pretty cool that everybody labels that as my classic,” Khalifa told the outlet. “Cause I put a lot of time and energy into it. To know that it came off exactly how I wanted it to and put me where I wanted to be in my career is really dope.” It seems as though the “Roll Up” rapper is hoping that lightning strikes twice with Kush & OJ 2. If he does indeed manage to pull it off, the album will enter the rare circle of sequels (2001, Tha Carter II, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, Pt. II) that live up to their precedessors.

Khalifa has made conflicting statements about Kush & OJ 2 in the past. During a 2014 profile with The Fader, the rapper dismissed the notion of making a sequel on the grounds that Kush & OJ was made during a specific time in his life. “You know, at the end of the day, I don’t think I could ever do that again,” he claimed. “Because that was brand new. You could never be brand new all over again.” Times have changed, evidently, and so has the rapper’s mind. Kush & OJ 2 is already being mixed and mastered, so fans will soon get to decide for themselves whether it lives up to the “classic” status its been given.
