Metro Boomin, Future, & The Weeknd Bring Immaculate Vibes To “We Still Don’t Trust You”

With both WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU and WE DON’T TRUST YOU out now, fans are going to compare which record is better. Some may even go song for song and debate which is better. One matchup that will be tough for many to choose a winner for are the self-titled openers. They are very different instrumentally, but both do set the tone tremendously for their respective tracklists.

At the end of the day, it comes down to personal preference, but Metro Boomin, Future, and The Weeknd certainly did their thing. “We Still Don’t Trust You” sees the St. Louis producer go into a lane he has not dabbled in since 2020. There is heavy synth pop inspiration, and it sounds like something he helped craft for The Weeknd on After Hours. The consistent criticism from the community about this track so far has been the lack of substance from Future and The Weeknd.

For us though, the intro on this album is looking to be more cinematic and otherworldly and the minimal contributions from the superstars works in this case. MIKE DEAN is also back in the booth with Metro and we can definitely hear his transcendent synths across the instrumental. We are also enjoying this because Metro is exploring different sounds and building on something he got a bit of start on four years ago. After hearing what he can do across an entire album, we would love to see Metro continue to experiment with it.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “We Still Don’t Trust You” by Future, Metro Boomin, and The Weeknd? Is this the best track from either WE DON’T TRUST YOU or WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Out of all of The Weeknd’s guest appearances is this his strongest one, why or why not? Is this their best collaboration after hearing this? Which album are bumping more right now? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. In the stadium is where I feel at home
I forgot the feeling of arena shows
And she love the stage, it got her sexual
Electricity, transparency, higher than we will ever be
I am loving our chemistry

Future & Metro Boomin Tap The Weeknd For Spacey “All To Myself” Off Of New Album “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU”

Future and Metro Boomin‘s second collaborative LP of 2024, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, is a more R&B-inspired effort than its predecessor, and who better to tap to give the album these ethereal vibes than Abel Tesfaye himself? Moreover, the “Low Life” trio comes together yet again on “All To Myself,” on which both Fewtch and The Weeknd provide some compelling and passionate vocal performances. As for the St. Louis beat wizard, his patient drums, dreamy synth pads, and cavernous guitar solos make for a truly intoxicating vibe that the lead vocalists fit perfectly. Honestly, never mind the alleged Drake diss that the XO boss includes here: this would still be one of the most notable, complete, and chemistry-filled cuts on the whole project.

In fact, this is a pretty tall order considering that The Weeknd also appears on WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU‘s title track (and music video). In comparison to that cut, though, the feature here is much more fleshed-out, compact, and specifically spotlit for the Canadian superstar. He follows Future’s lyrical themes of needing a partner all to himself, and their vulnerable lyrics on the matter, while sometimes too sappy, really fit the tone of the instrumentation on “All To Myself” quite well. Not only that, but this also showcases their vocal chemistry in a really cohesive and complementary way. Whereas Pluto’s croons are low and husky, the “Faith” singer soars high in his range. Also, they handle various flows quite seamlessly, and some extra embellishments like evolving drums and new timbres and melodies mean that Metro also does his part to craft this song dynamically.

The Weeknd Reacts to Drake’s Reportedly Leaked Diss Song

On Saturday (April 13), The Weeknd hopped on his Instagram Story and seemingly responded to Drake’s alleged diss track, which leaked online earlier that day. In the song, Drizzy takes aim at the R&B crooner, suggesting that he’s lying about being from the country and courting men in a similar fashion as others would do for women.

“Claim the 6 and boys ain’t even come from it/And when you boys got rich you had to run from it,” Drizzy raps. “Cash blowin’ Abel bread, out here trickin’/S**t we do for b***hes he doing for n***as.”

After hearing the news, The Weeknd posted a picture of himself laughing while eating popcorn, showing everyone that he’s simply unbothered by Drake’s rhymes. He added fuel to the response by following up with pictures of himself, Metro Boomin and Future during a photoshoot.

The Weeknd Drops Diss Toward Drake on “All to Myself”

The sudden hostility from Drake comes right after The Weeknd threw jabs at the OVO rapper on Metro Boomin and Future’s “All to Myself.” Coming off Metro Boomin and Future’s new album, We Still Don’t Trust You, which debuted on Friday (April 12), the Metro Boomin-produced offering sees Abel throwing shots at Drizzy.

“These n***as always yappin’, yeah/I promise that I got your back,” The Weeknd sings. “Ooh, look at how we movin’, baby (Movin’, baby)/They could never diss my brothers, baby (Future)/When they got leaks in they operation/I thank God that I never signed my life away/And we never do the big talk (No, no, no, no, no)/They shooters makin’ TikToks/Got us laughin’ in the Lambo (Yeah).”

Metro Boomin Crowns Himself, Future and The Weeknd as “The Biggest 3”

On Saturday (April 13), Metro Boomin jumped on X, formerly known as Twitter, and posted a photo featuring himself, Future and The Weeknd. The hitmaker captioned the post, “The Biggest 3.”

Metro’s post and statement, which can be viewed below, is mostly likely in reference to J. Cole’s verse on Drake’s “First Person Shooter”. On the song, the Dreamville rhymer rapped, “Love when they argue the hardest MC/Is it K-Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/We the big three like we started a league, but right now, I feel like Muhammad Ali.”

It seems like Metro is now proclaiming there’s a new Big 3 – Young Metro, Future Hendrix and Abel.

The Weeknd Appears To Laugh Off Drake’s Leaked Diss

Fans think The Weeknd was throwing shade at Drake with his latest post on Instagram, which features himself manically laughing. It comes after Drake shared a meme seemingly teasing the imminent release of a track addressing all the artists who have been dissing him in recent weeks. They include Kendrick Lamar and ASAP Rocky as well as The Weeknd. Additionally, The Weeknd’s post could be in response to that track possibly leaking online on Saturday, although many fans think it could be an A.I. creation as well.

The drama between the two started when The Weeknd dissed Drake on Metro Boomin and Future‘s track, “All to Myself.” Afterward, Drake shared a meme on his Instagram Story seemingly asking fans to hold out hope for his long-awaited response to the situation. Then, users on social media began sharing, what appears to be a leaked version of the diss track on social media, although it remains unconfirmed.

Looks Like The Weeknd and ASAP Rocky Are Coming for Drake, Too

It looks like The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky might have some words for Drake on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Still Don’t Trust You album.

The Weeknd Disses Drake?

On Friday (April 12), Future and Metro Boomin dropped their second album in less than a month. The second installment features the track “All to Myself” featuring The Weeknd, which appears to find Abel sending some subliminal shots at The Boy.

“These n***as always yappin’, yeah/I promise that I got your back,” Weeknd croons over the Metro Boomin-produced track.

A$AP Rocky Comes for Drake?

A$AP Rocky appears on the track “Show of Hands.” On the song, which can be heard below, the Harlem rapper spits, “Call up Pluto, Metro, should’ve put me on the first one/N***as swear they bitch the baddest, I just bagged the worst one/N***as in they feelings over women, what, you hurt or somethin’?/I smash before you birthed, son, Flacko hit it first, son/Still don’ trust you, it’s always us, never them/Heard you dropped your latest sh*t / Funny how it just came and went (Ha-ha-ha).”

Fans React to Weeknd and Rocky Lyrics

Fans have been weighing in on Weeknd’s perceived diss.

“Future and the weeknd going at drake.. im here for it,” one person typed on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Asap rocky had to clap at drake. drake sent a few shots at him on for all the dogs. my only thing is why can’t all these man do it on their own songs? they need collective buzz and power to attack,” another tweet reads.

“What did Drake do to The Weeknd? I never thought I’d hear my boy singing shade,” someone else tweeted.

The Weeknd and Drake have had issues in the past, which seem to stem from Weeknd’s refusal to sign with OVO despite being championed by Drake early in his career. A$AP Rocky and Drizzy have been trading shots recently as well. Rocky’s verse could be a response to Drake shading Rocky’s girlfriend Rihanna on the 2023 track “Fear of Heights.”

The Weeknd Appears To Be Dissing Drake On “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU”

If you have been paying the slightest attention to news in hip-hop, you know that everyone seems to be on the “screw Drake” energy. Artists have been sending shots at The Boy for years. However, the animosity has been at an all-time high in 2024. It ramped up immediately after Kendrick Lamar‘s direct attack on “Like That” from Metro Boomin and Future‘s WE DON’T TRUST YOU. Now, three weeks later, the list of names has expanded on the sequel project WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. The Weeknd is one of the next people to be dissing Drake and we are here to breakdown the lyrics.

The bars up for discussion appear on one The Weeknd’s many features on the album, “All to Myself.” It goes on the second verse where Abel is actually singing his diss. “They could never diss my brothers, baby (Future) / When they got leaks in they operation / I thank God that I never signed my life awayThey shooters makin’ TikToks / Got us laughin’ in the Lambo (Yeah).” It seems what The Weeknd is focusing on with Drake are the subtle attacks toward Future and Metro, as well as OVO versus XO.

Fans React To The Weeknd Dissing Drake

Drake and Tesfaye were close early on in their careers, especially during the years of Take Care and Kiss Land. Drizzy was looking to sign the fellow Canadian to his OVO label, but he declined it. There was also speculation that Drake was taking too much credit for The Weeknd’s career, while simultaneously not giving the R&B icon enough kudos for the work he did on Take Care. They have not worked together since the Kiss Land cut “Live For” back in 2013. With everyone coming for his neck, The Weeknd decided this was the right time to fire away.

What are your thoughts on The Weeknd supposedly dissing Drake on “All to Myself” off WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU? Is this beef fabricated for the sake of the record and everyone else dissing? Or, is The Weeknd been waiting to send shots? How do you think Drake will respond? Outside of the content, are you enjoying the song? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Did The Weeknd Diss Drake On Future & Metro Boomin’s “We Still Don’t Trust You” Album?

Has the long-rumored tension between The Weeknd and Drake finally come to a head? Has a Canadian artist civil war officially started thanks to a track on Future and Metro Boomin’s latest project?

We Still Don’t Trust You dropped on Friday (April 11). The follow-up to March’s We Don’t Trust You studio LP included a song titled “All to Myself” featuring The Weeknd.

“They could never diss my brothers, baby, when they got leaks in they operation. I thank God that I never signed my life away,” Weeknd sings on the “All to Myself” collaboration. Those lyrics seemed to reference reports Drake wanted to sign the man born Abel Tesfaye to his OVO Sound label.

Drake was one of the first acts to co-sign The Weeknd at the start of the singer/songwriter’s career. The XO frontman later helped write at least four songs on Drake’s Grammy-winning Take Care album.

“I gave up almost half of my album. It’s hard,” The Weeknd stated in 2015 about working with Drake. “I will always be thankful – if it wasn’t for the light he shined on me, who knows where I’d be. And everything happens for a reason. You never know what I would say if this success wasn’t in front of me now.”

The Weeknd contributed to multiple We Still Don’t Trust You songs. The fact that he appears so heavily on the LP also fueled speculation of a rivalry with Drake, considering Future and Kendrick Lamar targeted the OVO leader on We Don’t Trust You.

The Weeknd Extends His Record For Annual Top 10 Hits

Last week, Future and Metro Boomin unleashed their highly anticipated new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. After a full year of teasing the project was unsurprisingly a massive commercial success. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, scoring the biggest sales week of 2024 so far. It also debuted its entire tracklist on the Hot 100 including half of the Top 10. “Like That” with Kendrick Lamar stormed into the top spot while “Type Sh*t” with Playboi Carti and Travis Scott turned up at number two.

Debuting at number 9 on the charts was “Young Metro” which features The Weekend. The song is Abel’s 99th to land on the Hot 100, meaning his next entry will be his landmark 100th Hot 100 hit. But arguably even more impressive is the record it helped him extend. He has a top 10 hit on the Hot 100 every single year dating back to 2014, which is the longest active streak. It’s even more impressive that he’s kept that streak up without dropping a new album since Dawn FM hit back in 2022. Check out the full scope of his newest chart achievement below.

The Weekend Hits 11 Years Of Top 10 Hits

Last month, The Weeknd also appeared in the music video for “Young Metro.” Unsurprisingly given the success of the album, the video was also a smash hit. It’s racked up 5.4 million views in just 11 days since it first dropped. The video is also still in the top 20 of YouTube’s trending list for music despite how long it’s been out.

That video came just a month after The Weeknd released the music video for his song “Popular. “ The track features both Playboi Carti and Madonna and featured on The Idol series soundtrack. What do you think of The Weeknd having a top 10 hit every single year dating back to 2014? How long do you think his streak of top 10 hits will last? Let us know in the comment section below.

Future & Metro Boomin Drop “We Don’t Trust You” With Kendrick, Carti, Young Thug, Travis Scott, The Weeknd & More

Future and Metro Boomin have finally delivered the first of their highly anticipated joint offerings, We Don’t Trust You.

The 17-track project arrived at midnight Friday (March 22). It clocks in at just under an hour and features a cast of rap heavyweights, including Playboi Carti, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Rick Ross and more. Stream We Don’t Trust You at the end of the page.

Kendrick Lamar garnered much of the attention upon release with his verse on “Like That.” He was trending No. 1 on X (formerly) Twitter as fans dissected his apparent Drake and J. Cole diss.

Playboi Carti and Rick Ross were also trending for their appearances on “Type S###,” and “Everyday Hustle,” respectively.

Metro Boomin sampled Mobb Deep’s iconic “Quiet Storm” beat for Future to go crazy on “Seen It All.” The duo also paid homage to Mobb Deep in the We Don’t Trust You trailer earlier this month.

“There’s a lot of f#####’ garbage ass rappers out here, running around,” the late Prodigy says in the clip. “These n##### ain’t supposed to be rapping, son. This game is meant for a select, simple few. A select few, man. And that’s what it is today, man, I don’t give a f###, ain’t nothin’ changed.”

We Don’t Trust You follows Metro Boomin’s Heroes & Villains and Future’s I Never Liked You. Both albums, released in 2022 topped the Billboard 200.

Future and Metro Boomin are set to drop their second project on April 12.
