Trey Songz Settles $25M Lawsuit Over Alleged 2016 Sexual Assault

In February of last year, Trey Songz was hit with a lawsuit from an anonymous woman accusing him of sexual assault. The woman, going by Jane Joe, claimed that she attended a house party with the performer back in 2016 after meeting him at a nightclub in Los Angeles. The evening took a turn for the worse when Trey Songz invited her upstairs, where the alleged sexual assault took place. Atlantic Records, Trey Songz’s manager Kevin Lilies, and 300 Entertainment were also named as defendants in her suit.

Reportedly, they’ve now settled, though the amount has not been disclosed. Initially, the alleged victim was seeking $25 million for the mental and emotional distress of the incident. They were scheduled to appear in court for a hearing in September, which has been vacated due to the settlement. “The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are not to be performed within 45 days of the date of the settlement. A request for dismissal will be filed no later than June 10, 2024,” the legal docs reportedly state.

It remains unclear whether or not Trey Songz admitted guilt as a condition of the settlement, but last year, he denied the accusations on social media. “Lies will never be the truth,” he wrote in an Instagram Story. “No matter who chooses to believe such.” Sadly, this isn’t the first woman to have accused Trey Songz of assault, however. Just last month, Winter Blanco came forward on an episode of Behind The Likes to accuse him of assaulting her in 2018. She revealed that she chose to stay silent for the sake of her career.

“I’m tired of letting abusers get away with so much sh*t,” she explained at the time. “I was not going to ever talk about it because I was still trying to do music.” What do you think of Trey Songz settling his $25M lawsuit? Trey Songz Brings Out Clipse During Virginia Concert

Trey Songz has been crisscrossing the nation as part of the Love Hard Tour. When that trek hit Hampton, Virginia on Saturday (March 16), the R&B singer shared the stage with fellow VA natives Clipse.

No Malice and Pusha T of Clipse joined Trey Songz inside the Hampton Coliseum. The Hip-Hop duo performed their classic hit “Grindin’” for the live audience.

In addition, Love Hard Tour concertgoer Robert Jackson proposed to his girlfriend, Jaylah Stephenson, during Songz’s set. The Petersburg, Virginia-born vocalist serenaded the newly engaged couple.

Previously, Trey Songz brought out Detroit rapper/actor Kash Doll in the Motor City. Kash Doll later thanked the Back Home album creator for inviting her to the show in her hometown.

The Love Hard Tour also features R&B stars Keyshia Cole, Jahiem and K. Michelle. After hitting Philadelphia on Sunday (March 17), Trey Songz, Keyshia Cole and Jahiem head to Houston for a March 22 date.

Trey Songz released his Back Home studio LP in October 2020. The project peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart. He also has two Billboard 200 chart-toppers with 2012’s Chapter V and 2014’s Trigga.

Clipse broke out with the gold-certified Lord Willin’ album in August 2002. No Malice and Pusha T’s debut studio LP hosted The Neptunes-produced single “Grindin’” which became a Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 hit.

Kash Doll Teases New Album After Trey Songz Brings Her Out During Detroit Concert

Trey Songz embarked on The Love Hard Tour this year. The R&B performer and the rest of the artist lineup stopped in Kash Doll’s stomping grounds on Sunday (March 3).

While in Detroit over the weekend, Trey Songz invited Kash Doll to hit the stage during his set inside the Little Caesars Arena. The “For Everybody” rapper showed appreciation to Songz two days later with a social media post.

“Thank you @treysongz for bringing me out in my hometown! We outsideeee all year. Album dropping in May. Tour in September. WHO’S READYYYY????” Kash Doll tweeted on Tuesday (March 5).

Kash Doll dropped her debut studio album, Stacked, in October 2019 via Republic Records. She also teamed up with DJ Drama for 2023’s Back on Dexter: A Gangsta Grillz Mixtape.

Between the release of those two projects, Kash Doll signed a deal with MNRK Music Group in 2022. The ex-exotic dancer also joined the cast of the 50 Cent-produced BMF drama series on the Starz cable network.

Trey Songz became a divisive figure among music fans following several accusations of sexual assault leveled against him. The Passion, Pain & Pleasure album creator has denied those allegations. He has not been convicted of any crimes.

Trey Songz Gets Another Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dropped

Trey Songz secured another legal win this year, as Radar Online reports that an attorney filed to dismiss a sexual assault case against him. This follows a similar situation from less than a month ago, when a woman dropped her 2013 lawsuit against him for allegedly exposing her breast at a pool party. Moreover, back to this new dropped suit, the lawyer represented two anonymous women and filed to dismiss the complaint against the singer without prejudice. This means that they can file this complaint again at any time, and it’s anyone’s guess as to whether they’re regrouping their case or if they will fully leave their efforts behind.

Furthermore, their claim is, or was, that Trey Songz committed sexual assault and battery against them in 2015. Allegedly, they fell asleep at a party at his house due to being drunk and they woke up to him on top of them, forcing himself on them while they slept. One of them claimed that she tried to fight back, but that the 39-year-old ignored her and continued to pursue relations. In addition, they claimed that he asked them to shower together, but angrily kicked them out of his house when they refused.

Trey Songz Dodges Another Sexual Assault Case

While these cases dropped in the legal sense, Trey Songz still deals with a lot of due skepticism, criticism, and call-outs online thanks to all these alleged cases. Most recently, Jacquees blasted him for all his accusations and supposed actions. “I want the world to know this b***h a** n***a Trey Songz is a b***h,” he shared in a since-deleted social media post. “This n***a came in the club talking ‘bout r*pe. F**k you talking about r*pe for, b***h a** n***a? Then you come outside the club and swing on your little brother. You is a b***h.”

In another video Jacquees published, he made a specific claim about everything the “Say Aah” artist is accused of being true, and mentioned how his religious values play a role in this condemnation. It’s unclear what other pressing legal issues he could be dealing with right now. What’s clear is that it will be very difficult for Trey Songz to shake his past off either way. Ray Vaughn Delivers A Head-Nodding Flow On “Blasphemy”

Ray Vaughn might be new to Top Dawg Entertainment, but do not let his “inexperience” fool you. The Long Beach, California rapper has been on the label for about three years now and pretty soon he will be dropping his debut album. Fans have been waiting for this moment, especially after releasing single after single since 2018. We most likely have our next album single from Ray Vaughn called “Blasphemy.”

There is a chance that this is now the fourth teaser from the still unnamed project, with our last offering from him coming back in late March. The one that really caught a lot of people’s attention though is “Problems” with Pusha T. Both were bringing their A-game on that cut. But “Blasphemy” might be the one to overtake it.

Listen To “Blasphemy” By Ray Vaughn

This track is braggadocious to the core and it features some slick and cocky bars that are sure to be in our heads for days. “I know the guys’ gone blast for me / Louis V pouch at capacity / They can’t make this in a factory / God just blessed me with it naturally.” All of this is performed with an incredibly sticky melody and flow from Ray Vaughn. The eerie and trap beat is provided some of the best in the business, including Boi-1da and OZ. All of these factors combined give fans a track to have on repeat.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Blasphemy” by Ray Vaughn? Is this the best track that he has put out as of late, why or why not? Ka$hdami “oasis” Review

Ka$hdami is an up-and-coming rapper born in Las Vegas, Nevada and raised primarily in the DMV. He first started writing and developing his music skills between the ages of 8 and 13, before dropping several singles and projects from 2018 to the present day. The rapper, who is currently 19 years old, just dropped the latest in a long line of projects, titled oasis. Despite his young age, Dami has amassed a loyal following of over 1.1 million monthly Spotify listeners and even managed to pull in over 500,000 streams on oasis in less than 24 hours, showcasing his high-profile viral output.

Like many modern young artists, Ka$hdami broke into the industry by blowing up on social media apps such as TikTok, with a viral pop-rap sound that spread as the backing music for a number of highly-proliferated videos. Like many TikTok-era rappers, Dami has tailored his music to cater to the platform’s algorithm, which seems to remain the case with his latest album. In fact, the longest song on oasis clocks in at just barely over 2 minutes. The full project touts 12 tracks at a full length of 18 minutes. Here’s a brief look at the project and a review of the material therein.

Drowning In His Influences

Despite having spent years tinkering with music behind the scenes, Ka$hdami is still a relative newcomer to the hip-hop landscape. As a result, it becomes rapidly clear on oasis that he is still developing his own sound, and remains in the shadows of his favorite artists sonically. The opening track to the project, “Ain’t Me – Intro” sees the rapper doing a semi-decent Juice WRLD impression, with emo crooning vocal passages leading into a break-up voicemail from an unnamed female love interest.

Despite touting his namesake, the track “Kount Kash” sounds like the young MC’s best attempt at performing a Young Thug track at karaoke night, with high-pitched vocal inflections contrasting against the low-end 808s. Subsequent songs on oasis borrow flow patterns, melodies, and rhyme schemes from the likes of Playboi Carti, Trey Songz, Trippie Redd, and other hip-hop & R&B acts who have taken the time to carve out unique sounds within the industry. While Ka$hdami’s take on these sounds is perfectly acceptable and sonically enjoyable, it’s hard not to see that the 19-year-old has a lot of growing to do before he can deliver a unique classic all his own.

Ka$hdami’s Age Shows

image

Some of the best songs on oasis, such as “Loyalty,” offer interesting production choices which should, in theory, provide the record with an identity of its own. Unfortunately, the hyper-brief run-time of the record, at just one minute and 16 seconds, leaves little to no time to get invested in the musical themes or concepts at play. Furthermore, comparing Ka$hdami to his contemporaries, such as 19-year-old Redveil, displays how shallow and empty Dami’s lyrical content can be. Most tracks on the recent project have very little to say beyond the run-of-the-mill references to partying, being gangster, and stealing girls from uncool peers.

The only track on the album that is truly terrible is the penultimate song, “UshyGushy.” “UshyGushy” is nearly unlistenable, with jarring and unpleasant vocal tenors, disgusting juvenile references to female anatomy, and lyrics that reference the video game Minecraft, truly making the song sound like an anthem for a 10-year-old’s Twitch stream.

oasis Shows Promise For The Future

Despite the clear and present issues plaguing the release, oasis still displays a good deal of musical talent. Ka$hdami is obviously more than capable of delivering smooth lyrics and carrying a tune, and his ear for production is genuinely quite refined. Even though this project is unlikely to wow new listeners, Ka$hdami seems to have what it takes to become a formidable force in the rap industry, as long as he continues to refine his sound.

Saweetie Is Living In The Lap Of Luxury On “Richtivities”

Saweetie has relentlessly pushed back her debut record Pretty B**** Music. The Bay Area rapper has been doing this since 2018 with numerous hits under her belt. However, with her waiting so long to drop her first true LP, it seems she has gotten a little lost in the fold of femcees that have emerged around the same time as her. But, she is not going to let that stop her from eventually getting this thing out to the public. For now, Saweetie is back with “Richtivities.”

Her last single came out in late January with P-Lo called “Do It For The Bay.” However, that track was more of a promotional song for Saweetie’s hometown San Francisco 49ers. Maybe that song helped them get another Super Bowl berth? Saweetie’s last true single was released back in July with Tyga and her now ex YG called “BIRTHDAY.”

Listen To “Richtivities” By Saweetie

“Richtivities” is your typical braggadocious female rap cut about being sexually desirable and having the most expensive niceties. The bars are pretty plain jane (pun intended). “Super fine, bills paid, doin’ fine / True to time, give me brain, use your mind / P***y wet, I’m a water sign.” If this is what her fans want then they will really enjoy the album. However, for the rest of the music fans, waiting all this time for the tracks to sound generic will not bode well for Saweetie sadly.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Richtivities,” by Saweetie? Does this song get you excited for her debut album Pretty B**** Music, why or why not? Do you think she took too long to drop it, or is she doing the right thing? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Saweetie. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Drake and 50 Cent Among Rappers Falsely Registered to Vote

Drake and 50 Cent are among numerous rappers and singers who were falsely registered to vote in Texas as part of an elaborate prank.

Drake and 50 Cent Among Rappers Falsely Registered to Vote

Last Tuesday (Feb. 13), it was reported by The Houston Chronicle that numerous recording artists had been falsely registered to vote in Texas under the same address. Records obtained by the outlet from the Harris County Tax Assessor’s Office show that someone registered Drake, 50 Cent, The Game, Trey Songz and Chris Brown to vote on Aug. 15, 2023.

All the men were registered to vote at the same address, and none of the artists cast a ballot in 2020’s election. Federal law allows people to register to vote in Texas without a driver’s license, ID or Social Security number. As long as the person filling out the application can provide full legal names and birth dates, the registration will likely go through.

The apparent prankster also reportedly signed the papers, which read, “I understand that giving false information to procure a voter registration is perjury and a crime under state and federal law. Conviction of this crime may result in imprisonment up to one year in jail, a fine up to $4,000, or both.”

The artists were all registered to vote at a “beige $300,000 house in a modest new development” in Katy, Texas.

50 Cent Questions California’s Health Care Coverage Expansion

The bizarre prank comes as 50 Cent begins to get more and more political in recent months. Back in January, 50 shared a post on Instagram that questioned California’s latest move to provide universal health care to all 39 million residents, including immigrants living illegally.

In the post, Fif shared a screenshot of a news article on the topic. He captioned the post, “I don’t understand this, this it going to cost 2.6 billion dollars for tax payers. They don’t even give veterans health insurance. @arimelber call my phone now, help me understand this s**t. WTF,” he added.

He also tagged MSNBC journalist Ari Melber, eager to talk more on the record about the issue.
