A woman who was involved in a physical altercation with rapper Ice Spice inside a Hollywood McDonald’s on Wednesday is now providing her perspective on the incident. The woman, who identified herself as Vayah, claims that the dispute was not unprovoked but rather the result of what she perceived as a dismissive and disrespectful attitude from the Bronx-born artist.
According to Vayah, she and a group of friends had stopped at the fast-food establishment to use the facilities when she noticed Ice Spice sitting at a table. Vayah stated that she approached the rapper with the intention of offering a compliment, but the interaction quickly soured.
“Immediately Ice Spice was being rude. She was like, ‘Why are you over here? You can leave, bye,’” Vayah told TMZ.
Escalation and Conflicting Accounts
Vayah claims she challenged the rapper’s tone, leading to a heated exchange regarding their respective origins and the rapper’s behavior in Los Angeles. She alleged that the situation intensified after Ice Spice reportedly used a derogatory term, which she says prompted her to react physically. Following the initial confrontation, restaurant staff intervened and escorted Vayah from the premises.
However, surveillance footage obtained by media outlets presents a different narrative. The video appears to show Vayah approaching the table and making a provocative comment, to which Ice Spice responded before Vayah initiated physical contact by slapping the rapper.
Legal Repercussions
The incident extended beyond the restaurant, with reports of a subsequent dispute on the street. Vayah further alleged that during the chaos, Ice Spice grabbed her friend’s phone from the floor and threw it, resulting in a cracked screen. Despite her own involvement in the physical altercation, Vayah expressed disappointment in the rapper’s conduct, stating, “As a fan, I’m not expecting you to be rude. She lost a fan.”
In response to the incident, Ice Spice’s legal team has taken swift action. A representative confirmed that the attack has been reported to the Los Angeles Police Department, and they intend to pursue all available legal avenues to hold those involved accountable.
