NC Rapper Bussdown Will Get Life For Murder He Rapped About

Walter "Bussdown" McKoy Jr. is looking at life in prison after being found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm, and discharging a firearm inside city limits in the death of 21-year-old William Covington.

The 24-year-old Bussdown then may have rapped about the crime -- which he says happened during an argument over a missing firearm -- in his track "Cookies.

"I rob a n***a for all of his chains and all of his weed/I bust his brain, I leave him stankin' down in them trees," he raps.

It's unclear if the lyrics were a determining factor in the conviction.

If you’ve been following us since 2016.... you will remember us following this crazy story & covering him. #Bussdown was convicted Friday in Superior Court in Lumberton for the death on March 31, 2015, of 21-year-old William Covington. McKoy was found guilty of first-degree murder, robbery with a firearm and discharging a firearm inside city limits. He was sentenced that same day to life in prison by Judge Robert Floyd. The case was prosecuted by Joe Osman, first assistant to the elected district attorney, and Senior Assistant District Attorney Martha Duvall. The shooting was the result of an argument over a missing firearm that took place earlier between McKoy and Covington, Duvall said. Covington was said to have given McKoy a firearm and the firearm was not returned.
