Drake Against the World – Everyone He Allegedly Has Beef With

Drake became the biggest talking point of the weekend after rumors emerged that Kendrick Lamar and Future might have some beef with The Boy. However, the laundry list of Drake’s foes may have grown in the last few days, making the bench of rappers unhappy with the 6 God very deep and fairly daunting.

Fans spent their weekend breaking down Future and Metro Boomin‘s new album, We Don’t Trust You, which dropped on March 22. Kendrick Lamar’s much-discussed verse on “Like That,” which is included on the joint album, became a major talking point on social media shortly after the album dropped. K-Dot’s bars seemed likely aimed at Drake and J. Cole, but while the verse was exciting it didn’t catch rap fans completely by surprise. There are quite a few rappers that seem to have issue with Drake now, and many are pure speculative.

Drake and Metro Boomin’s Beef

It’d make sense Metro would package a Drizzy diss into his new album since the producer appeared to have some issues with the rapper in 2023. Metro had admitted on X, formerly known as Twitter, last year that he was disappointed about the lack of awards his 2022 album, Heroes & Villains, got versus Drake and 21 Savage’s Her Loss. Drake appeared to take this as disrespect, prompting him to call out certain “tweet-and-deleters” in a video before the year was out.

Metro tried to diffuse the situation by saying his issues with Drake were “not deep at all,” but Drake fanned the flames with another dig at Young Metro. Rumors also emerged that Metro was pillow-talking with a girl about his dislike for Drizzy, and that these words ultimately reached the Canadian rapper himself. None of this has ever been confirmed.

Beef With Kendrick Lamar

Rap fans also noted that Kendrick had been coming for Drake’s neck for a while now, maybe even dating all the way back to Kendrick’s “Buried Alive” verse in 2011. On the Take Care interlude, a young Kendrick admitted in his verse that an affiliation to Drake might not actually benefit him.

“So blame it on Mr. OVOXO/The reason why I’m breathin’ all the vanity I know,” Kendrick rapped at the time.

Listen to Drake’s “Buried Alive Interlude” featuring Kendrick Lamar

Kung Fu Kenny then officially kickstarted their dispute with his much-talked-about verse on Big Sean’s song “Control” in 2013. On the song, Kendrick calls out nearly every major rapper by name including Drake. The latter then made it worse by admitting he’s never felt threatened by the Pulitzer Prize-winning rapper.

“I didn’t really have anything to say about it,” Drake told Billboard of K-Dot’s “Control” in August of that year. “It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that [Kendrick]’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform. So when that day presents itself, I guess we can revisit the topic.”

A Beef With Future Began at Some Point

Well, the topic seems to have been revisited. After listening to “Like That,” fans quickly began scouring for other signs of 6 God friction within the We Don’t Trust You album. Everyone assumed Future had issues with Drake too based on his mere association with Metro since they have been working on a joint project for so long. Drake and Future were once the joint project kings, with What a Time to Be Alive in 2015. The two last collaborated on Future’s “Life Is Good” in 2020. Then somewhere along the lines Drizzy started working more with 21 Savage, which led to their Her Loss joint album and a tour together.

Rap fans then noted one verse in particular on Future and Metro Boomin’s album intro track “We Don’t Trust You,” in which Pluto spoke about “pillow talk.” Supporters believed this to mean Future and Drake may have some issues over a girl. This caused fans to go back into each artists’ vast discography to find other breadcrumbs that could help form a timeline of this alleged betrayal.

It didn’t take long before fans began viewing Drake’s For All the Dogs cut “What Would Pluto Do?” in a different light. Fans now think the track’s hook is a potential dig at Future’s behavior.

“Last time I saw her, she was f**kin’ with my n***a/So, the question is, the question is, ‘What would Pluto do?’ He’d f**k the ho, so I did it,” Drake raps on the song.

Listen to Drake’s “What Would Pluto Do”

Fans then continued to trace the timeline even further back and cited Drake’s 2022 track “More M’s” as a possible other dig at Future as well. This time, Drake spit bars about a rapper hooking up with a girl he was interested in. It didn’t help that N.O.R.E. had previously said Future was maybe already mad at Drake because of his Her Loss collab with 21 Savage.

“It makes Drake and Future’s album not as important, I would say,” N.O.R.E. said in 2023. “This is allegedly. This is all rumors. Never heard it from Future’s mouth, never heard it from Drake, never heard it from 21. But it’s an alleged, big rumor that’s goin’ on right now.”

Multiple Rappers Unfollow Drake on Social Media

Rumors that artists were unfollowing Drake erupted. On Saturday, The Weeknd’s signee Nav allegedly unfollowed Drake on social media that same day. The move thickened the plot even further considering Drake and The Weeknd’s history. Did this mean the “Crew Love” collaborators weren’t on good terms either? Drake then quoted Nav’s 2020 song, “Turks,” in an Instagram caption after news broke of the unfollowing. “I ain’t picking up I’m in Turks lil baby,” Drizzy wrote. The Weeknd also appeared on the song “Young Metro,” on Metro and Future’s We Don’t Trust You. Was this album a line being drawn in the sand?

After “Like That” dropped, footage of Future and Metro Boomin’s Rolling Loud California performance in early March was circulating. This was done to show that Travis Scott, who joined the duo on stage, was urging the pair to play “Like That.” Was La Flame against Drake as well? Considering Trav’s loyalty to Kanye West, fans believed this theory could make sense. Kanye and Drake have loathed each other for years now. Recently, Ye said “F**k Drake” on Instagram just this month.

Watch Travis Scott Encourage Future and Metro Boomin to Play “Like That”

As the internet continues to theorize, it was reported that Rick Ross also unfollowed Drizzy on social media. While no rivalry has been officially confirmed, the timing of these removals show something is definitely amiss.

Metro Boomin Tries to Put a Stop to the Rumors

Metro Boomin finally stepped in on Sunday (March 25) to try and quell any further speculation about all the talk of beef. The social media detective work had become increasingly far-fetched over the weekend, and the producer wanted fans to just enjoy the album.

“Yall n***as stop making stuff up for engagement and enjoy the music,” he commented on X in response to a fan’s latest theory that Drake and Future are beefing over a girl.

Drake expressed palpable frustration seemingly about the situation during his recent tour performance in Florida.

“A lot of people ask me how I’m feeling,” Drake told concertgoers. “I’ma let you know how I’m feeling. Listen, the way I’m feeling is the same way I want you to walk out of here feeling tonight about your f**kin’ self. ’Cause you know how I’m feeling? I got my f**kin’ head up high, my back straight, I’m 10 f**kin’ toes down. I know that no matter what, it’s not a n***a on this Earth that could ever f**k with me in my life.”

It remains to be seen exactly what comes from all these rumors and subliminal disses, but in the words of Gandalf the White from The Lord of the Rings: Things are now in motion that cannot be undone.

Drake Hypes Himself Up With Passionate Speech After Kendrick Lamar Diss

After a full weekend of headlines surrounding Kendrick Lamar’s jabs at Drake and J.Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” Drizzy hit the stage at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise, Fla. on Sunday (March 24). At one point during the show, the Toronto MC takes a minute to address his current state of mind in the form of some inspiration for both himself and the thousands of concertgoers in attendance. Drake’s passionate speech finds the 6 God declaring that no man “on Earth could ever f**k with me.”

“A lot of people ask me how I’m feeling,” Drake says in the concert footage below. “I’ma let you know how I’m feeling. Listen, the way I’m feeling, is the same way I want you to walk out of here feeling tonight about your f**kin’ self. ’Cause you know how I’m feeling? I got my f**kin’ head up high, my back straight, I’m ten f**kin’ toes down.”

His animated speech continues: “I know that no matter what, it’s not a n***a on this Earth that could ever f**k with me in my life. And that’s how I want you to walk out of here tonight. But, in order to, you know, get yourselves all gassed up, all riled up, and move towards the future, sometimes, you gotta acknowledge the mistakes that you’ve made in the past.”

Drake’s Fiery Speech Follows Days of Headlines Surrounding the Rapper’s Potential Beef

Drake’s impassioned moment on stage follows a whole lot of chatter in recent days revolving around the many potential issues he may have with a number of big names in hip-hop. On Friday (March 22), Kendrick Lamar shook things up by taking shots aimed at Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That.”

“Sneak dissin’, first-person shooter, I hope they came with three switches,” Kendrick raps on the We Don’t Trust You cut. “I crash out, like, ‘F**k rap,’ this Melly Mell if I had to/Got two Ts with me, I’m snatchin’ chains and burnin’ tattoos, it’s up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain’t Andre 3K/Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/Muthaf**k the big three, n***a, it’s just big me/N***a, bum, what? I’m really like that.”

On the heels of Kendrick’s “Like That” verse, Drizzy has been shrouded in rumors regarding potential beef with other rappers in the space. The fact that K. Dot used Future’s joint album with Metro Boomin as his platform to throw the lyrical jabs has found hip-hop heads speculating that Drizzy may also be at odds with Future himself.

While Metro has dispelled the notion that Drake and Future may have beef over a girl, Travis $cott’s name has also entered the fray. During Future and Metro Boomin’s set at Rolling Loud California last week, Travis adamantly demanded that the duo debut “Like That” on stage. That has led many to believe that Cactus Jack had some sort of knowledge of what Kendrick Lamar’s content entails.

What’s your favorite Drake project?

Why There Are So Many Producers Credited on One Beat

Producers have arguably one of the most important jobs in music. When an artist wants to brainstorm an idea for a new song, it isn’t uncommon for them to get paired up with a songwriter or producer to help get the creative juices flowing. It’s also common practice for the artist to enlist the help of a close confidant whose opinion they trust.

Collaboration is what makes the best art possible, and when a rising rapper or even a hip-hop superstar has financial and societal pressure to put out good art, why would they not bring people on board to help them out? These days, it seems like it’s rare to see just one producer on a track. Production credits look like an actual tracklist with the amount of people contributing to one release. So, why is this the case?

There Are A Lot of Cooks in the Production Kitchen

Many of the world’s biggest artists will have numerous people in the studio with them, whether it be songwriters, engineers, producers or other creative confidants. Even Drake has previously acknowledged how much he benefits from colluding in the studio with other writers.

“How do I get better? I push myself really hard,” Drake said in an interview back in 2013. “I have great opinions in the studio like me, 40 and Hush we all sit in the studio… I try not to sacrifice any bar. I’ll sit there on the last two lines of a verse for three, four days if I need to.”

Hush, real name Anthony Palman, is a well-known songwriter and is credited as a writer on almost every song on Drake’s Nothing Was The Same album.

The same argument can be made for producers. While each track may have a main producer who cooked up the initial beat, collaboration is what makes an instrumental really shine, which ultimately leads to more cooks in the kitchen and more credits listed.

In the winter 2024 issue of XXL magazine, Nik Dean told XXL that he had crafted part of the beat for Travis Scott‘s “Skitzo,” which appears on his latest album, Utopia. However, the production credits include additional listings from Boi-1da, WondaGurl, Slim Pharoah and six others. This is because Trav implemented beat switches and other effects that embellished the initial instrumental shared. Regardless, Nik Dean maintains that having a Trav placement in his catalog of production credits made Nik go into “hype mode,” especially since it also led to a Grammy nomination.

It’s Fairly Easy to Get a Production Credit

But these small tinkerings also mean it can take very little to earn a production credit, especially in the era of sampling. Ethically speaking, even if a producer goes in and merely warps a drum or adds a synth, they’re entitled to a production credit. This means the list of producers on one track can stack up quite quickly since most producers often have a credit requirement listed in their contract. The same can be said for flipping or sampling a song. Usually, the artist behind that track will be credited as a songwriter.

As noted by the music distribution company Amuse, the most common deal struck between an artist and producer provides a flat fee to the latter for their work, followed by net royalties. However, in the world of the internet, artists sometimes just pull a producer’s beat off YouTube or a similar site and use it either without paying or paying a low fee. The same can be said about sampling, especially if the sample was never copyrighted.

Hardcore rap fans noted that Beyoncé‘s 2022 song, “America Has a Problem,” uses the “Ahh” scratch intermittently throughout. As reported by The Hustle, this scratch is technically from Beside’s 1982 song “Change The Beat.” The scratch has been used by dozens of rappers in the years since its inception including Beastie Boys, Missy Elliott and Bad Bunny. While Beside is technically entitled to thousands of dollars as a result of the “Ahh” scratch, the legal infrastructure to protect sampling didn’t start to exist until the early 1990s.

Listen to Beside’s “Change The Beat”

During much of the 1990s, producers weren’t properly compensated. DJ Shok took DMX’s Ruff Ryders to court over unpaid royalties in 2021, and was awarded millions of dollars after claiming he made songs for over a decade for DMX, Big Pun and other artists without ever seeing a dime. This disheartening trend has unfortunately continued well into the 2020s, with young up-and-coming producers struggling to get paid their fair share.

Streaming has made this issue worse due to an increase in the volume of songs being released, with lawyers being unable to keep up with who gets paid.

“What you’re seeing happening with the streaming economy is there are a lot more records being released, which means a lot more collaborations, which means a lot more agreements,” Jordan Bromley, a partner at Manatt Entertainment, told Rolling Stone in 2020. “Frankly, the load of work for a lot of law firms is too heavy to handle. Producers’ clearances get put at the bottom of a growing pile.”

If a Producer Adds on to the Beat, They’ll Get a Credit

Despite these disputes, producer credits have continued to be sprinkled generously onto dozens of songs. Cash Cobain—who produced Drake’s “Calling For You” beat alongside Yachty, PoWR Trav and others—recently told XXL he wasn’t sure how it happens.

“I don’t even know how it works,” Cobain said. “People add on production…at least on my end, I’ll be in the studio, creating a beat and somebody else will be like, ‘Let me add on to it.'”

This formula of layering producers on a song also hasn’t stopped reaping big rewards for artists and labels alike. Each of the biggest rap songs from 2021 to 2023 had multiple producers on it.

  • Lil Nas X‘s “Industry Baby” featuring Jack Harlow produced by Drew Sliger, Roy Lenzo, Ojivolta, Nick Lee, Kanye West and Take a Daytrip (2021)
  • DJ Khaled‘s “God Did” featuring Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Lil Wayne and Fridayy produced by DJ Khaled, STREETRUNNER, Tarik Azzouz and Fridayy (2022)
  • Doja Cat‘s “Paint The Town” produced by Earl on the Beat, Karl Rubin, Jean Baptiste and DJ Replay (2023)

There remains plenty of standalone artist and producer match-ups out there. One of the biggest rapper-producer duos in recent years is Ice Spice and RIOTUSA, but these songs make a compelling argument that collaboration breeds bigger records. So, while the public’s perception of a rapper may diminish based on how many producers or songwriting credits are listed, isn’t it more important that the song sounds good and that everyone gets paid?

Metro Boomin Shuts Down Rumor Future and Drake Beefing Over Girl

Metro Boomin is shutting down a rumor that Future and Drake are beefing over a woman.

Metro Boomin Weighs In on Future and Drake Beef Rumors

Rumors about Future and Drake possibly being at odds over a woman have been running rampant on social media in the wake of the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album. Some internet sleuths have gone as far as to make timeslines of the beef, complete with lyrical “evidence.” On Sunday afternoon (March 24), Metro weighed in on the scandal. The super producer replied to a post that alleged to have all the details about the woman Future and Drake are allegedly feuding over.

“Yall n***as stop making stuff up for engagement and enjoy the music,” Metro commented under the post.

Future and Metro’s New Album Has People Talking

Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album had the internet buzzing upon its release on March 22. Much of the buzz was caused by Kendrick Lamar’s verse on the song the song “Like That” where he disses Drake and J. Cole.

Drake Beef: A List Of All The Rappers Do Not Seem To Like Drake

OH YEAH – the drama just hit a whole new level of spicy, y’all! Let us begin!

Rick Ross no longer follows Drake on IG.

Nav no longer follows Drake on IG.

Future and Drake are outright beefing.

OH and do not forget Kendrick. There are more so read on.

Drizzy and Future have been throwing shade like it’s sunny all year, but Drake just pulled a move that’s got everyone talking. There’s this fresh clip floating around the internet where Drake makes his entrance at his concert, blasting Future’s track “My Savages” for all to hear. He has always been one to get into it with certain people, but this seems to be him putting a match on a river of gas.

Social media’s on fire. The comments sections are universally trash-talking about this stuff. But what does it all mean? Does it mean Drake is about to go into beastmode? It is all speculation for now. But, it seems like Future and Metro Boomin’s latest song “We Don’t Trust You” is laying the groundwork for a very hot summer. Seems like Kendrick Lamar and Future are tag teaming the Candadian.

But, for what? Ahhhhhh…it is so basic and petty. The are reportedly beefing over a girl. “We Don’t Trust You” seems to be Future’s clapback to Drake’s verses in “What Would Pluto Do” on his For All The Dogs. One online post said that this issue actually goes back a couple years. Drake supposedly went at Future on “More M’s” from his Her Loss album with 21 Savage. Other people have said that Travis Scott put the battery in Future’s back, which seems to make sense.

ASAP Rocky has been caught liking tweets from Metro Booming that go at Drake from a performance at Rolling Loud. Yung Miami recently crown Future the GOAT, when we know that Drake believes himself to be that. Also, we now know that Rick Ross no longer follows Drake. Kendrick is basically BEGGING Drake to reply to him. Not sure J. Cole or Drake want to risk it all for some rap beef. Only time will tell.

Nav is a name we do not hear to often on the rumor page. But he has also stopped following Drake, stirring the pot even more. Nav is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, and record producer signed to The Weeknd. He also produced for Drake a few years ago. He even has a CURRENT album that has a Drake verse, BUT he isn’t using it. That is heavy.

Drake, catching wind that Nav was not following him on the ‘Gram, decides to get petty. He took to Instagram, and quoted Nav. He said, “I ain’t picking up I’m in Turks lil baby,” which is from Nav’s 2020 hit “Turks.” The only thing is we do not know the reason for Nav’s sudden disdain for Drake. In the past, he’s always talked highly of him.

So, what does this all mean? What does it mean for J. Cole? It seems like the lines are being drawn and they are using permanent ink!

At least Meek is not involved!

Metro Boomin Addresses Rumors About Future & Drake Beef: “Stop Making Stuff Up For Engagement”

Metro Boomin told fans to stop making up rumors about Future and Drake‘s relationship when one user on Twitter theorized the two former collaborators are feuding over a girl. Sharing a picture of a woman’s Instagram page, one fan wrote: “This is the girl they are allegedly beefing over. And this is the name of one of the songs on the album.” In response, Metro remarked: “Yall n****s stop making stuff up for engagement and enjoy the music.”

The rumors about their beef stem from the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s new collaborative album, We Don’t Trust You. On the song, “Like This,” Kendrick Lamar directly targets both Drake and J. Cole, prompting fans to believe Future must not be on good terms with the two either. “Sneak dissin’, first-person shooter, I hope they came with three switches,” Lamar raps, referencing Cole and Drake’s “First Person Shooter” collaboration. “I crash out, like, ‘F**k rap,’ this Melle Mel if I had to/Got two Ts with me, I’m snatchin’ chains and burnin’ tattoos, it’s up/Lost too many soldiers not to play it safe/If he walk around with that stick, it ain’t Andre 3K/Think I won’t drop the location? I still got PTSD/Muthaf**k the big three, n***a, it’s just big me/N***a, bum, what? I’m really like that.”

The verse led to fans reinterpreting Future’s lyrics on the intro of the album to be about Drake. “You a n***a number one fan, dog/Sneak dissin’, I don’t understand, dog/Pillowtalkin’, actin’ like a fed, dog/I don’t need another fake friend, dog/Can’t be ’bout a ho, ’cause we sharin’, dog/In you feelings, n***a, why you playin’, dog?/Give her backshots, while she layin’ down/Keep the Glock cocked, I don’t trust h*es/Top shotter, goin’ for the gusto/Like a real dog, got a mutt h*/Get the lo’, you a John Doe/Bubble-eye Benz on a h*/Rappin’ so pretend, you a h*,” Future raps.

Rick Ross Has A Secret Child That Looks Like Drake, Ex Tia Kemp Claims After He Unfollows Him

The strained relationship between Rick Ross and his ex Tia Kemp has been a pretty big story in the hip-hop media gossip landscape for a while now. Moreover, tensions flared up even more after he dissed her on his feature on “Everyday Hustle,” one of the tracks off of Future and Metro Boomin‘s brand-new collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. However, interestingly enough, this created a space for this romantic battlefield to cross over with the rap arena. Kemp clapped back on social media, taking to Instagram Live to claim that the Maybach Music Group boss has a secret baby that looks suspiciously like Drake.

“I want to see my stepson that look like Drake,” Tia Kemp said against Rick Ross in the lengthy IG Live rant below. Overall, it’s a lot of smoke for him on a lot of different levels, and it looks like he doesn’t have his boo by his side anymore to balance this out. Fans recently expressed shock and some disbelief when Cristina Mackey revealed that she and the Too Good To Be True‘s relationship was… well, too good to be true, and that they called it off. She even previewed a track about their breakup.

Tia Kemp Claims Rick Ross Has A Secret Drake Lookalike Baby: Watch

Furthermore, the aforementioned crossover is because Rick Ross apparently unfollowed Drake on Instagram, and so did NAV despite Drizzy quoting his lyrics in a recent Instagram post. This was the first post he made after WE DON’T TRUST YOU dropped, on which Kendrick Lamar unleashed some scathing disses against him. Also, Future and Metro Boomin have their own alleged beef with The Boy, so it looks like people are acting quick and picking sides. Still, it’s easy to get caught up in this narrative, but with something as trivial and ephemeral as social media follows, there’s a strong likelihood that no one would’ve noticed that they don’t follow each other if it wasn’t for this alleged feud.

Rozay Seems To Pick A Side

Meanwhile, a similar situation happened when Travis Scott asked Metro and Pluto to play the Kendrick song at Rolling Loud L.A. Fans thought that he wanted them to take a strong stance against them, but considering that they didn’t even play the Kendrick Lamar verse, maybe La Flame didn’t even know that he was on it and just wanted to hear that amazing beat. Whose side are these people on? Only time will tell. For more news and the latest updates on Rick Ross, stay up to date on HNHH.

Drake Drops Nav Lyrics in Caption After Nav’s Instagram Unfollow

It appears that Drake dropped Nav lyrics in a caption on Drizzy’s Instagram page after Nav presumably unfollowed him on Instagram.

Drake Seemingly Reacts to Nav’s Instagram Unfollow With Lyric Caption

On Sunday (March 24), Drake jumped on his Instagram page and shared a post featuring a series of concert photos from his It’s All a Blur Tour – Big as the What?. While it looked like Drake was sharing some fun times at his show, fans noticed his caption, which appeared to be aimed at rapper Nav.

In the caption, which can be viewed below, Drake wrote, “I ain’t picking up I’m in Turks lil baby,” along with a zany face emoji.

The caption is lyrics from Nav and Gunna’s 2020 song “Turks” featuring Travis Scott.

Additionally, attentive fans also observed that Nav unfollowed Drake on Instagram. However, it is unclear whether Nav had previously followed the Grammy Award-winning rhymer and then unfollowed him. Furthermore, it is unclear if Drake’s IG post was directed at Nav as well.

Did Nav Unfollow Drake to Show His Alliance With Metro Boomin?

Following Drake’s post on Instagram, fans have been speculating on his choice to incorporate lyrics from Nav in the accompanying caption.

Some people believe that Nav unfollowed Drake to show his alliance with Metro Boomin since they have collaborated on a project, Perfect Timing, in 2017. It’s assumed that by Nav unfollowing Drake, Drizzy wanted to be petty in his post purportedly aimed at Nav.

“Aint no way! They’re tryna start a civil war in Toronto,” wrote one fan who offered his conspiracy theory on the matter. “All this started because Metroboomin’s girl got Boomed. Now they got the Rexdale native involved If this was GAME OF THRONES Drake would’ve signed The Wassas.”

Without any concrete evidence, it is difficult to determine Drake’s true intention behind the post and whether there’s any drama between Drizzy and Nav.

Drake Drops First Instagram Post After Kendrick Lamar Diss, Quotes NAV After He Unfollows Him

Well, about 54 hours after the world heard Kendrick Lamar on “Like That,” Drake decided to speak out following the shots he caught on that diss track. However, it’s not a response at all, but rather a series of snaps on Instagram from his Big As The What? tour with J. Cole, who also got heat on Kendrick’s verse. “I ain’t picking up I’m in Turks lil baby,” The Boy captioned the post, quoting a line off of NAV’s “Turks” with Travis Scott and Gunna. Moreover, this is particularly interesting because Internet sleuths discovered that NAV seems to have unfollowed him on IG, which is a very interesting development.

Furthermore, one possible explanation for this is NAV’s loyalty to Metro Boomin, who has his own beef with Drake. They have a collab tape together and multiple other collaborations, so it would make sense that he “picks a side” here as Metro and Future have promoted heavily for their own collab album, the brand-new WE DON’T TRUST YOU. This is where Kendrick Lamar chose to take shots at Drizzy and J. Cole, and lines up with Fewtch’s alleged rift in his relationship with OVO. There are a lot of conflicting loyalties here amid a group that used to be very tight, so it’s a hard call to make either way.

Drake’s First IG Post Post-“Like That,” NAV Seems To Pick A Side

Regardless, it seems like Drake and J. Cole are in no particular rush to respond, or else they would’ve done something for their Saturday night (March 23) Big As The What? tour stop in Florida, their first since “Like That” dropped. Instead, they invited Lil Wayne to perform alongside them, as they previously announced for a number of upcoming shows. Aubrey Graham’s caption here could also suggest that he’s living unbothered, partying out in Turks and Caicos while the world waits for an answer to Kendrick Lamar. But with the “First Person Shooter” duo’s competitive spirit in mind, and all the smoke they’ve been foaming at the mouth for, it’s likely that we’ll get some type of response soon.

Metro Boomin Hinted At Kendrick Lamar Diss & Drake & J. Cole Beef With Tweet Pre-“WE DON’T TRUST YOU,” Fans Think

Metro Boomin and Future‘s collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU sent hip-hop fans into a frenzy for its quality and for its confrontational stance. Moreover, Kendrick Lamar’s feature on “Like That” shaded Drake and J. Cole, proclaiming himself to be the only top dog in what he think is a falsely crowned “Big Three.” Of course, given Metro and Drizzy’s previous tensions plus some new theories that Fewtch is also beefing with OVO, this seems to have prompted a civil war of sorts in the rap game, one that we haven’t seen at this level of visibility and artistry in a long time. But with a couple of days of analysis in the rearview, fans are looking at old tweets and realizing the road here seems to have been paved all along.

once you pick a side stay there.. #WEDONTTRUSTYOU,” Metro Boomin had tweeted on Thursday night (March 21), just 18 minutes before WE DON’T TRUST YOU dropped. Furthermore, fans have also unearthed plenty of old verses, interview clips, social media posts, and other instances and interactions that could inform this current state. However, since no one involved has either directly or indirectly addressed any of this, it’s a tough call to make. Even without this explicit confirmation, though, the narrative is already there, and it’s now on these artists to define how they will proceed.

Metro Boomin’s Previous Tweet About “Picking A Side” Makes Way More Sense Now

In addition, some new clips and unearthed footage suggests that this supposed hip-hop war goes much deeper than those targeted on “Like That” or its creators. After Travis Scott popped out at Future and Metro Boomin’s Rolling Loud L.A. set, fans found footage of La Flame asking the duo to play the diss against Drake and J. Cole. While this doesn’t really confirm anything, a lot of social media users assume that Travis has his own issues with either MC. Still, considering that “MELTDOWN” arrived not even a year ago, it would be huge if something went down between him and the 6ix God in that short span of time.

Meanwhile, the “I Serve The Base” team hinted at this rift, but they also definitely predicted that they would hit it big with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. From what the album’s promising first week sales projections indicate, it seems like they would be right in this assessment. After all, the sad reality is that nothing brings clicks quite like conflict, especially amid the highest echelon of the genre. Nevertheless, we’ll see if any other developments paint other past statements or actions in a different context, and we’ll still be bumping this album to unearth more of its craft and creativity. On that note, stick around on HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Metro Boomin and all these artists.
