Uninterrupted, an athlete empowerment digital video company, founded by NBA all-star LeBron James and business partner Maverick Carter, is set to officially launch outside of the US to its next door neighbor Canada. James and Carter launched the digital video platform for athletes to have a space to better tell their stories, as well as what they enjoy outside of being an athlete. With the help of long-time friend, Toronto native, and rap sensation Drake, LeBron launches Uninterrupted Canada through a partnership with the rapper. In turn, this deal makes Drake part-owner and promoter for the sports centered platform. Following the initial launching of Uninterrupted in 2015, the digital space will be expanding beyond the US for the first time.

When speaking to Variety, Drake says, “Uninterrupted has been an incredible platform for athletes to tell their stories and connect with fans. I’m honored to partner with LeBron to bring Uninterrupted to Canada, a country that continuously supports innovation and creativity.”

After a 24-year history, Drake’s home team the Toronto Rapters wins their first NBA championship against Golden State in Game 6, becoming the first non-US team to win the NBA championship. To honor this celebration, Drake has dropped two new singles with one featuring rapper and record executive Rick Ross

As for James, he says in one statement, “When we started Uninterrupted, it was to give athletes a platform where we could share our stories and connect with our fans in a way we never had before. It’s exciting to see that idea now leading a whole new era of athletes around the world feeling empowered to do more and be more.” James’ Uninterrupted raised $15.8 million for its launch back in 2015 with the backing of WarnerMedia’s Warner Bros. Entertainment and Turner Sports.
