R. Kelly was charged with 11 additional felony counts of sexual abuse on Today (May 30) and some of the charges carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison. The singer is scheduled to appear in court on June 6, as reported by CBS Chicago.

The new charges consist of four counts of aggravated criminal sex assault, three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 16, two counts of criminal sex assault by force and two counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse, as stated in the court records.

Eight of the alleged incidents occurred between January 1, 2010 and January 31, 2010. The three other incidents allegedly occurred between May 1, 2009 and January 31, 2010, as also reported by CBS.

Back in February, R Kelly was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and was accused of abusing four women- three of them were underage at the time of the alleged assaults.

Steve Greenberg, his lawyer, responded to the charges by tweeting that his client was recharged in an existing case. And later in an intense interview with “CBS This Morning” anchor Gayle King, R Kelly said the allegations against him were all lies.
