Rico Nasty, Cardi B & More Join Live Nation Urban’s “Femme It Forward” Series To Highlight Women in Entertainment
Women in entertainment continue to dominate the music industry as the recent success of female visionaries has lead to Live Nation Urban’s launch of “Femme It Forward,” which was announced by the company as a new multi-platform series. The series will highlight the careers of women in front of and behind the scenes with female-only lineups. Select shows will have tickets available to the public beginning Friday while all of the shows will be on sale by April 26.
Emerging female rapper Rico Nasty kicks off the “Femme It Forward” series with her participation in a panel and performance at Harvard University. The next event in the series will find Live Nation Urban’s VP of talent and touring, Heather Lowery, hosting on April 26 in Washington, D.C. at Brocoli Con for the Black Women in the C-Suite panel.
Set to connect with audiences in multiple markets, “Femme It Forward” is based on entertainment events and initiatives supported by panel discussions, live performances, activations and comedy shows. Lowery goes on to describe the organizations purpose in detail as she states, “Since our inception in 2017, Live Nation Urban continues to create opportunities for emerging and established urban artists — both on the stage and behind the scenes.” Supporting the series as live talent are some of our favorite female hip-hop and R&B musicians from Cardi B and City Girls to Teyana Taylor and Jorja Smith.
Lowery continues, “This past year has been an exceptional one for women in music and entertainment, and with the incredible contributions of women, it is fitting that we honor the future of music and its continued steps on the path to inclusion.”
The star-studded lineup for the live performance aspect of the series includes Rico Nasty, Ari Lennox, Kali Uchis, Nicole Bus, Jill Scott, Faith Evans, Amerie, Monica, Brandy, Keri Hilson, Ashanti, Lil Mo, Mya, and many more as the roster has yet to be fully revealed.
