Foolio Murder Suspects Await Trial

Jacksonville, Fla. rapper Foolio was shot and killed after being ambushed in a Holiday Inn parking lot in Tampa, Fla. on June 23, 2024. Jacksonville residents Isaiah Chance, Alicia Andrews, Sean Gathright were arrested for the murder a month later on July 29, 2024. Davion Murphy was arrested the following day, while Rashad Murphy was caught after six months on the run.

Police say the group traveled from Jacksonville to Tampa to kill Foolio as part of an ongoing gang war in Jacksonville. Isaiah Chance and Alicia Andrews tracked Foolio to each location and Rashad Murphy, Davion Murphy and Gathright were identified as the shooters, according to officials. Police also have surveillance video of the shooting, which shows three people firing high-powered rifles as Foolio’s car in the hotel parking lot before fleeing.

All the suspects have been charged with first-degree murder and other crimes and have pleaded not guilty.
