Jess Baldwin shares new single “What I’m Not”
Singer/songwriter Jess Baldwin shares the new single “What I’m Not” which displays her unique songwriting and commanding vocals in all their glory. The singer has been slowly building her rep from appearing on NPR’s Mountain Stage in 2013 and reaching the quarter-final stages in the 2015 and 2017 editions of the American Traditions Competition and even winning the Best Cover song in the 2015 and 2017 Ohio Music Awards. The Columbus, Ohio-based singer is now back with something refreshing and engaging. The song “What I’m Not” is a smooth, mellow but powerful anthem for self-growth and detaching oneself from people who don’t add an atom to one’s life. She delivers a commanding and heart-rending performance ripe with evocative lyrics such as “You can’t hear me, You just fear we need that one thing/ To have something true/ Can’t we make something new?”
Overall, it’s the perfect track for taking the tough step of accepting that some people would never grow with you and just letting them be for the sake of peace and tranquillity.
