Wez Atlas finds himself during the “Daily Calm” [video]
Upcoming hip-hop artist Wez Atlas, from Japanese and US origins, finally drops his awaited first mini-album, a conceptual piece of work around the motto of ” facing yourself”, where the artist shows up his skillful and smooth bilingual rap. “Daily Calm” is the song in question and follows Atlas as he zones out from the madness of the world in order to find himself. Over a sparse but punchy backdrop, he delivers a mix of rap and melodic runs as he dives into his daily routines and more.
The engaging visuals by Ryota Ishizawa really bring viewers closer to Wez Atlas’s world. A blend of short clips of his daily activities to short performance shots gets the job done. “Daily Calm” is taken from Atlas’s new mini-album titled Chicken Soup For One. The 7 track project is an introspective piece that is centered on self-reflection and healing. The production is handled by starRo , nonomi, Big Animal Theory , VivaOla and others.
Following this mini-album release, Wez Atlas will hold his first one-man show in the famous venue WWW in Shibuya, Tokyo, on October 29. Get the LP here.
