In this section, we will not discriminate but rather highlight some of the creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Drew The Kiiid – “new year freestyle.”

Drew The Kiiid kicks off this week’s Video playlist with the aptly titled “new year freestyle.” The celebratory track captures the rapper’s smooth flow and nonchalant demeanor on wax. The visual is shot by Drew himself with Angel Flores who used different techniques to achieve this engaging video. Shot using the iPhone 13 pro max, iPhone 12 pro max, and DJI om 5, the result is quite solid. The pictures are crisp and the seamless transitions with effects all work well.

Get – “Substance Abuse”

Get‘s “Substance Abuse” is a heartfelt reflective piece that explores the ways how artists destroy themselves by faking their life just to look cool on wax. The visual directed by Rayymond has a retro-cinematic feel and captures the rapper’s performance style. It is straightforward but quite engaging as well.

Rebel Prez – “No shirt”

Rebel Prez gets into a reflective mode in his insightful single titled “No shirt” featuring J Breezy. Over the solemn piano chords, soulful horns, Prez runs through his journey and experiences as a changed man from the street life and implores us not to put him on a shirt when they dial his number. The visual is pretty nifty and captures the NC native in his element as he goes about his business amongst other things.

SSY x ArtJay x Jesscobar – “Real Recognize Real (infinite)”

SSY x ArtJay team up with producer Jesscobar for this celebratory cut titled  “Real Recognize Real (infinite).” The laidback track sees the rapper counting their successes in the face of naysayers and pay homage to the underdogs out there trying to find their way to the top. The visual shot by SSY and Brendon Blakeway has a DIY feel and captures different spots in the city and also performance shots of the rappers.
