Beyoncé has faced backlash following her first venture into the genre, with many refusing to recognize her music as “country.” “Dukes of Hazzard” star John Schneider was slammed for comparing Beyonce to a dog in his criticism of her new songs.

A country music station swiftly reversed its decision to ban “Texas Hold ‘Em” and “16 Carriages,” after being accused of racism.

Dolly Parton Fans React To Beyoncé Praise

There was a mixed reaction from fans in the comment section of Dolly Parton’s Beyoncé post.

“A country album needs a country heart,” one response began. “Beyonce has voice by the ton but that girl does not have a country heart. Dolly girl you on the other hand have not only a country heart but probably more of it than is good for you.”

“That song is trash,” another person added. “Stop virtue signaling! I’m black and even I know that’s not good country music.”

However, many others declared the debate over now that Dolly Parton has given Beyoncé her seal of approval.

“If you are disagreeing with…checks notes, Dolly Parton, on what is country….maybe be more like Dolly,” a third person wrote.

Meanwhile, other fans want the two songstresses to join forces on a song: “Dolly Beyoncé collab maybe? Just a thought”
