Eddie Murphy Reveals Son Secretly Eloped With Martin Lawrence’s Daughter – Comdians Now In-Laws
Eddie Murphy revealed his son Eric Murphy quietly tied the knot with Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Lawrence, turning a longtime Hollywood friendship into a family bond.
The 64-year-old Eddie Murphy shared the surprise marriage news during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, confirming that Eric, 35, and Jasmin, 29, skipped the big ceremony and opted for a low-key church wedding instead.
“They got married, like, two weeks ago,” Eddie Murphy said. “They went off… Everybody was making the big wedding plans and they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them.”
Murphy, who has ten children, said the couple’s decision to keep things simple brought him even closer to longtime friend and Bad Boys co-star Martin Lawrence, 60.
“Yeah, we’re in-laws. And he doesn’t have to pay for that big wedding now,” Murphy joked.
The couple’s ceremony was stripped down to the essentials.
“They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing. So I think we’ll have like a big party or something,” Murphy added.
Eric is Murphy’s oldest child, born to ex-girlfriend Paulette McNeely. Murphy also shares children with Nicole Mitchell, Tamara Hood, Melanie Brown and his fiancée Paige Butcher, with whom he has two kids.
The couple’s romance had been public for years, but the wedding remained under wraps until Murphy’s reveal.
