Florida Country Rapper Jamie Ray Drops New Video “Sticks”

Asserting himself as a genre-breaking maverick, Florida-born country rap phenomenon Jamie Ray returns with a new single and music video entitled “Sticks.” It marks his third release on Against Da Grain/Human Resources/Epic Records and first this year.

On the track, guitar and banjo wind around skittering 808s as he leans into a countrified flow punctuated by Southern twang and slippery wordplay. It culminates with the declaration, “Country boy from the mud, got my money up!” In the accompanying visual, he plays poker in an old school saloon as the tune from The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly sets the scene. Soon, he’s rapping to the camera flanked by dancers in cowboy hats. With every move, he ignites a Western rap banger unlike anything out there!
