The music video format has been around for decades and through the 90s and 2000s, it has really taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but rather highlight some of the creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

The Zodiac Tribe “Respond In-Kind” in this new single showcases pure lyrical prowess over a punchy boombap soundscape. The visual captures the trio in different scenarios ranging from interrogations to getting rid of human evidence and more. It’s quite cinematic and engaging. The Zodiac Tribe is made up of Count Doom, Aries The 12th, and Def Child.

 

Chris Cachia – “Highness Bow”

Chris Cachia shares visuals for his single “Highness Bow.” A mellow track that is ripe with somber piano riffs, moody textures, and Chris’ vivid lyricism and impassioned flow. The visual has a dark and psychedelic feel and makes use of several visual effects and performance shots of the rapper doing his thing.

 

 

T Clipse – “METAVERSE”

Emerging rapper T Clipse takes us into his own “Metaverse.” Bolstered by a soulful soundscape, the rapper blends bravado with a touch of insight as he reminds online perpetrators not to step to him in real life and keep that online thugging to themselves. The visual directed by Jesse Bouley is quite straightforward and blends several performance shots seamlessly threaded together.

 

JidScan – “Psycho (Freestyle)”

JidScan is a NJ-based rapper and he caught our ears and eyes with his new release titled “Psycho (Freestyle)” which is a 2-minute long showcase of lyricism. Backed by the bass-heavy trap backdrop, he proceeds to wreak havoc on the mic and the visual follows suit with a display of his vibrant performance style.

 

 

L.Teez – “Waves”

Emerging rapper L.Teez helped close out this week’s list with the visuals for his single “Waves”. The mellow soulful tune dives into the concept of inner demons and daily tribulations which listeners can relate to. The visual is motif-driven and shot in black and white which adds a cinematic and melancholic aesthetic to it all.
