Wolf Castle is about to “Get Lit” [Video]
Indigenous Mi’kmaq rapper/ producer and singer from Pabineau First Nation, New Brunswick Wolf Castle makes his entry on our site with this insightful and bravado-laden piece titled “Get Lit.” The track has an orchestral texture layered over bass-heavy boom-bap drums which are perfect for the rapper’s smooth flow and evocative lyrics about rebellion and finding true freedom.
The visual is stylish and expressive as it makes use of performance shots, eye-catching motifs, costumes, and cinematic aesthetics to drive home the message of finding one’s true self in the midst of the madness.
Wolf Castle grew up on the reservation with a supportive family of artists, movie directors, and musicians hence going for a career in the arts seemed like the natural choice. Starting at age 11 he taught himself how to play piano, write and record his own music and has been releasing music projects every year since age 17.
“Get Lit” is taken from his forthcoming album, Da Vinci’s Inquest,
