The Most Vicious Lines in Recent Diss Tracks From Drake and More

Kendrick Lamar opened a Costco-sized can of worms back in March when he dissed Drake and J. Cole on the Future and Metro Boomin song “Like That.” Since then, it’s like half the hip-hop industry has been out for blood, with several diss songs being released in the last month. And some of the vitriol being tossed back and forth is off the chain.

Kendrick Lamar shocked the rap world when he went in on Drake and J. Cole.

“And your best work is a light pack/N***a, Prince outlived Mike Jack’/N***a, bum/For all your dogs gettin’ buried/That’s a K with all these nines, he gon’ see Pet Sematary/N***a, bum,” K-Dot raps.

It was a calm before the storm. However, Cole was the first to step up to the plate with his response “7 Minute Drill” where he trashed the Compton, Calif. rapper’s catalog.

“Your first s**t was classic, your last s**t was tragic/Your second s**t put n***as to sleep, but they gassed it/Your third s**t was massive and that was your prime,” Cole rhymes. Cole would go on to bow out of the beef a couple of days later But that was only the beginning.

It soon became clear the K-Dot wasn’t only only person who had an issue with Drake as Rick Ross, The Weeknd and A$AP Rocky have also shaded The Boy on songs. Drake has returned fired on two tracks titled “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.”

In the midst of all this, Chris Brown and Quavo have jumped into the ring, in what may be the most intense back-and-forth of them all. It’s getting ugly in these hip-hop streets.

Check out the most vicious lines from hip-hop’s recent diss songs from Drake, Rick Ross, Quavo, Chris Brown and more below.

Kanye West Disses Drake On “Like That Remix”: A Break Down Of Lyrics

If you thought Drake and Kanye West had forgotten their long-standing beef, think again. Ye recently came out guns a-blazing with the release of the “Like That Remix,” proving that he and Drizzy have a long way to go before they settle. From the first line of the diss track, it’s evident that Ye has a bone to pick. Alongside Future, Metro Boomin’, and Ty Dolla $ign, this remix borrows many elements from the original track and takes things up a notch. Altogether, 2024 has quickly become the year of the diss track, and the Drake-Kanye West beef is the latest entry in the long lineup.

Drake Vs. The World

Kanye West and Drake’s beef stretches back years, and the remix is the most recent milestone. However, while Ye is pretty used to commandeering multiple spats simultaneously, this is seemingly new territory for Drizzy. In what can only be considered a humongous feat, Drake has had words for several heavyweights in the game this year alone. Between Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, and now Ye, it’s a miracle he’s still standing.

As Drake continues to prove he’s no pushover, the industry is foaming at the mouth in anticipation of what’s to come. But what’s most remarkable is that two of his diss tracks, “Push Ups” and the controversial, AI-assisted “Taylor Made Freestyle,” are targeted at Kendrick. This is why Ye’s involvement caught us all by surprise. Kanye West debuted the “Like That Remix” during his appearance on The Download with Justin Laboy, and this has effectively added a new layer to his ongoing beef with Drake.

Ye Felt “Energized” To Eliminate Drake

Much to the disappointment of fans, Kendrick Lamar has yet to respond to Drake for the aforementioned diss tracks. Nonetheless, Ye seems to have taken on the task, claiming the baton off K-Dot. It’s no wonder the track begins the way he does. In an aggressive manner, Ye hollers: “You know we had to get The Hooligans up here / We gon’ take this p*ssy n*gga out / Yo, Dot, I got you.”

Right out the gate, Kanye’s made his intentions clear… he’s out for blood. While on The Download, he shared that he was “energized” to take down Drake. “[Future] called me and I went to the studio and laid that,” he began. “We went through the creative process of adding the chords and called the Hooligans out in London to get on the joint… Everybody was very, very energized about the elimination of Drake.”

Multiple Stray Bullets

In true Ye fashion, shots were fired at not just Drake but those within his proximity. Drake famously resigned with Universal Music Group in 2022, reportedly featuring some serious money being thrown around. UMG’s CEO, Lucian Grainge, was one of the names dropped on the “Like That Remix.” Specifically, Ye referred to him as Drake’s “master.”

Where’s Lucian? Serve your master, n*gga / You caught a little bag for your masters, didn’t ya / Lifetime deal, I feel bad for n*ggas / Y’all so outta sight, outta mind/ I can’t even think of a Drake line.

However, the most memorable stray bullet fell on J. Cole, who famously bowed out of the rap feud by apologizing to Kendrick Lamar. Nonetheless, Ye had some words for him. In what has become one of the most viral lines on the track, Kanye says, “Play J. Cole, get the pu**y dry.” The reason for the animosity remains unclear, but fans have long since had their theories about why Kanye West and J. Cole do not see eye to eye.

For one, Ye might not have enjoyed Cole’s “big three” claim. However, Kendrick’s response about “big me” didn’t seem to rub Kanye the wrong way. In 2016, Cole’s “False Prophets” had a few lines that may have subtly pointed to Ye’s mental health issues. Whatever the case may be, Ye told Justin Laboy that it was too late for Cole to back out of the feud. Evidently, the damage is already done. “It’s like, n**ga, you can’t run now,” Ye said.

Conclusion

Kanye West and Drake’s beef has now hit a new peak. It’s anyone’s guess if Ye will double down with another verse soon. Or maybe Drizzy has some words of his own in store. However, at the core of it all is Kendrick Lamar. Above all, the fans are still eager for his return.

Ja Rule Relates To Drake Going “20 Vs. 1” In Ongoing Rap Beefs

“What the f### is this, a 20-v-one, n####?” Drake raps on his “Push Ups” diss track. Murder Inc. Records’ flagship artist Ja Rule reacted to the Canadian superstar’s current situation of facing multiple adversaries at the same time.

Following the release of Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You and We Still Don’t Trust You albums, Drake found himself on the opposing side of Future, Metro, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky and others.

“20V1 I can relate… [rolling on the floor laughing emoji],” Ja Rule tweeted. The New York City-bred recording artist also posted, “Hip-Hop is a family… and no one wins when the family feuds!!! Don’t let that go over your head… #hiphopvseverybody.”

Ja Rule infamously feuded with 50 Cent and the G-Unit collective. The bad blood between Ja and 50 has played out publicly for more than 20 years, drawing in other Murder Inc. acts. In addition, 50 Cent received backing from his musical mentors Eminem and Dr. Dre.

British television personality Piers Morgan recently asked Ja Rule about his longstanding issues involving 50 Cent, specifically questioning him about his online spat with him in February.

”I think I responded, I’m cool. I don’t get into the back and forth,” Ja stated on the Piers Morgan Uncensored show. He also added, “I really don’t do social media like that at all. I post, of course, to promote some of my things – but I’m really not the social media guy like that. I really don’t get into the back and forth with him.”

The Ball Is in Kendrick Lamar’s Court, What’s He Going to Do Now?

Kendrick Lamar is ready for war. Or is he?

The Compton, Calif. rapper set the rap world on fire in March with his show-stealing verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which found him dissing J. Cole and Drake. Cole swung back on the since-deleted track “7 Minute Drill” before gracefully (or disgracefully, depending on who you ask) bowing out of the beef. That left Drake.

After some time to simmer, Aubrey tagged himself in when his diss track “Push Ups” leaked on April 13. On the now-confirmed diss, the 6 God goes at Future, The Weeknd, Metro Boomin, Rick Ross, and of course Kendrick, who got it the worst.

“Your last one bricked, you really not on s**t/They make excuses for you ’cause they hate to see me lit,” Drake snaps. “Pull your contract ’cause we gotta see the split/The way you doin’ splits, b***h, your pants might rip/ You better do that muthaf**kin’ show inside the bitty/Maroon 5 need a verse, you better make it witty/Then we need a verse for the Swifties/Top say drop, you better drop and give ’em 50.”

“Pipsqueak, pipe down/You ain’t in no Big 3, SZA got you wiped down/Travis got you wiped down, Savage got you wiped down/Like your label, boy, you in the scope right now/And you gon’ feel the aftermath of what I write down/I’m at the top of the mountain, so you tight now/Just to have this talk with yo’ a*s, I had to hike down/Big difference between Mike then and Mike now/What the f**k is this, a twenty-V-one, n***a?/What’s a prince to a king? He a son, n***a.”

Drizzy has since doubled down, releasing the song “Taylor Made” freestyle on April 19. With the use of A.I., Drake uses vocals from Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur to taunt K-Dot. It’s starting to get ugly. Ye has even entered the chat, debuting his remix verse to “Like That” where he disses Drake and curiously J. Cole.

So, now, Kendrick has to respond, right? RIGHT??

The Pump Fake Kendrick Lamar Diss

On April 15, the rap world thought they had gotten the response they were looking for when an alleged “Kendrick Lamar diss song” leaked online. The song found “Kendrick” sniping at J. Cole and Drake.

“One rap n***a dead, laid on the floor/And I didn’t have to throw bullets for him to go/Now that we got that out of the way, it’s one more to go,” the lyrics go. “Stop wasting time, let’s get the show on the road/N***as was ignoring with deep disses, and when they get, that’s why they entertained it as sneak disses/And now that it’s direct, it’s leaked disses from burner pages and all/Insecure behavior from n***as y’all call gods/I know that you were sensitive, an emphasis on lame/Seeking validation from rap critics slandering names/Legacy forever cemented, I will reign/The next move make your best move, it’s detrimental.”

It turns out, the track was totally fake. An artist named Sy The Rapper later took responsibility for the song. However, not everyone believes him.

Will Kendrick Lamar Return Fire? The Rap World Is Waiting

While K-Dot has remained silent, there have been rumblings that he has something big in store. Back on April 10, Joe Budden claimed both Drake and Kung-Fu Kenny had disses in the works that are going to be mammoth.

“I have it on good information that both sides went in the booth and came out,” Joe explained on an episode of The Joe Budden Podcast. “What I’m hearing about both sides is that it’s nuclear. It’s up-up. I’m hearing this from people that can rap. So, I want to come in here and say that speculation time is over. Debate time is over.”

Drake’s “Push Ups” leaked a few days later. So there is a chance Joe’s sources are accurate about K-Dot as well.

On an April 18 episode of TJBP, cohost Ish also talked about an impending Kendrick response.

“Some people that have heard the Kendrick track, I heard that his energy is just something that’s going to be hard for Drake to match. They said he’s coming on some ’Pac ‘Hit Em Up’ energy,” Ish explained.

As one of the most reclusive artists in the game, K-Dot is being tight-lipped. Even in the midst of more taunts from Champagne Papi. Is this the calm before the rap prodigy delivers the storm? Hip-hop is in wait-and-see mode.

Ja Rule Claims He Relates To Drake Amid His Ongoing Feuds

Ja Rule says he relates to Drake amid the Toronto rapper’s numerous ongoing feuds in hip-hop. Taking to Twitter on Saturday, he referenced Drake’s recent track, “Push Ups.” “20V1 I can relate…,” he wrote with a laughing emoji. In another post, he added: “Hip hop is a family… and no one wins when the family feuds!!! Don’t let that go over your head… #hiphopvseverybody.” On Drake’s song, he raps, “What the f*ck is this, a twenty-v-one, n***a?”

Fans shared plenty of jokes in response to the post with many bringing up Rule’s feud with 50 Cent. “You was part of the 20 and still lost,” one user replied. Another remarked: “Weren’t you on a song with 100 n****s all dissing 50?????????????”

The feuds involving Drake picked up steam when Kendrick Lamar dissed him on Metro Boomin and Future‘s song, “Like That,” last month. After three weeks of waiting, he finally fired back with “Push Ups.” On the song, he targeted several other artists who dissed him before he could drop the song, including The Weeknd, Rick Ross, and more.

Ja Rule Speaks On Rappers Targeting Drake

In other Ja Rule news, he recently had to cancel his performances in the United Kingdom after being denied entry. In a post on social media from February, he explained: “I’m so devastated I can’t believe the UK won’t let me in I’ve spent a half million dollars in production of my own money to put this tour together only to be denied entry DAYS before my shows this is not fair to me or my fans these venues are 85% sold and now I can’t come… The UK is one of the few European countries that restricts entry to people with criminal records. Future and Metro Boomin’s Sequel Album Tops Billboard 200 Chart

They did it again! Future and Metro Boomin‘s sequel album, We Still Don’t Trust You, premiered at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Future and Metro Boomin’s Sequel Album Hits No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart

Future and Metro Boomin’s second album, We Still Don’t Trust You, landed atop the Billboard 200 albums chart (dated April 27). The dynamic duo’s No. 1 project moved 127,500 equivalent album units in its first week of release.

The rap tandem’s new chart achievement makes Future the fifth rapper in history to earn 10 No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200, while Metro earns his fifth leader on the tally.

Future and Metro Boomin’s reign at No. 1 might be short-lived as Taylor Swift’s just-released album The Tortured Poets Department sold 1.4 million copies in traditional album sales on its first day of release last Friday (April 19), according to early reports to data-tracking firm Luminate (via Billboard). With early sales numbers like that, it’s a sure bet that Swift will reach the top spot next week.

Album sales aside, Future and Metro Boomin had social media chattering thanks to Ye premiering his verse on the duo’s unconfirmed remix to their Kendrick Lamar-assisted song “Like That.”

On Saturday (April 20), Ye appeared on The Download podcast and debuted his verse on the remix of “Like That.” The song features the Chicago rapper-producer going in on both Drake and J. Cole. The track can be heard below.

Kanye West Drops Official “Like That” Remix, Disses Drake & J Cole

Kanye West shared the official full version of his “Like That” remix on Sunday afternoon after premiering the track during an interview with Justin Laboy on The Download podcast the day before. With the lyrics to the song, he disses both Drake and J Cole and offers to join Kendrick Lamar in his ongoing feud with the rappers. Lamar previously dissed the two on his verse for the original version of Metro Boomin and Future‘s “Like That.”

On the new effort, Ye raps: “Pluto sent the drones, it hit like Metro beats/ It’s a wrap for n**gas, where’s Lucian? Serve ya’ master, n**ga/ You caught a little bag for your masters didn’t ya’, lifetime deal, I feel bad for n**gas/ Y’all so outta sight outta mind, I can’t even think of a Drake line/ Play J. The original version of “Like That” sparked a number of diss records, which have resulted in a hip-hop civil war of sorts. ASAP Rocky, The Weeknd, Rick Ross, and more artists have all come out against Drake. The Toronto rapper fired back with his diss track, “Push Ups,” earlier this month. In the days since, he’s been taunting Kendrick Lamar to respond. As for J Cole, he bowed out of the feud just days after dropping “7 Minute Drill,” which he aimed at Lamar. He explained his decision at the Dreamville Festival and took the track off streaming services afterward.

While Kanye is the latest the join in on the situation, he previously spoke out about Drake and Lamar’s feud after “Like That” first released. He ranted on Instagram at the time: “EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED KENDRICK ON NO MORE PARTIES IN LA. EVERYONE KNOWS I WASHED DRAKE AT THE FREE HOOVER CONCERT.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Kanye West on HotNewHipHop.

A.I. Generated Diss Song Made By Drake Angers Fans

Drake shook up the rap game with his follow-up diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle,” where he tries to provoke Kendrick Lamar to respond to him through taunting lyrics by West Coast rap icons Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg. The song, which was shared on social media, begins with verses by Tupac and Snoop Dogg courtesy of Drizzy using Artificial Intelligence. Drake comes in on the third verse without any A.I. vocal manipulation.

Drake’s usage of A.I. for “Taylor Made Freestyle” has sparked mixed reactions on social media with some people finding it creative while others didn’t like that he used a deceased rapper to go at K-Dot.

“I can’t believe yall ok with the Canadian rapper using an AI Tupac. Manipulating the deceased voice with your own words for beef is the corniest s**t I have ever seen,” wrote one person on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Ngl Tupac would have hated Drake.”

Another fan chimed in: “Nah, Drake really railroaded Tupac and Snoop into the war via AI? This diss is flagrant…”

However, some people thought it was a brilliant move on the 6 God.

“Drake just dropped a diss track using Tupac and Snoop Dogg AI vocals. This is brilliant, innovative, and hilarious,” wrote an X user.

One person had an interesting take on Drake’s usage of A.I. He wrote: “Kendrick is on no clock. Drake’s taunting is enough to show that he wants Kendrick to jump in with a rushed record when his internet shenanigans have reached their peak. It’s easier to control the narrative when bots, loyal fans, music articles, memes, podcasters and streamers are portraying you as the winner.”

As for Snoop Dogg, it’s unclear if he knew about Drake using A.I. Tupac. Since Drizzy’s posting of his diss track, the rap veteran posted a video on his Instagram page showing that he seems unbothered by the brouhaha surrounding the Toronto rap star using the late Tupac’s voice. “They did what? When? How? Are you sure?” he asked. “Y’all have a good night.”

Kendrick Lamar Had Used A.I. Tupac for “Mortal Man”

Many fans have compared Drake’s securing an imaginary ‘Pac feature to Kendrick using the late rhymer’s vocals on the concluding track “Mortal Man” on his 2015 album, To Pimp a Butterfly. On that song, the Compton lyricist utilized archived audio recordings of Tupac to engage in a virtual dialogue with the deceased artist.

Although not the same thing, Kendrick sparked backlash for using CGI to manipulate his face into different celebrities in his “Heart Part 5” music video in 2022. In the visual, Kendrick’s face transforms into the deepfakes of various celebrities such as Kanye West, Will Smith, Jussie Smollett and deceased legends Kobe Bryant, Nipsey Hussle and the late O.J. Simpson. The deepfake technology employed in Kendrick Lamar’s video utilizes a form of artificial intelligence known as deep learning to modify facial expressions and voices.

So Is A.I. Technology Good for Hip-Hop?

As the entertainment industry continues to grapple with the use of A.I. technology, the ongoing debate over how to address fans and artists using it has no clear resolutions.

Case in point: A.I.’s potential threat and leaks have become problematic in hip-hop’s most significant rap battle event: Drake vs. Everybody. On April 13, 2024, a new Drake diss song leaked and had the internet going nuts. The track finds Drizzy returning fire at Kendrick Lamar, Future, Metro Boomin, Rick Ross and The Weeknd. However, there were initially some reservations about the track from fans and media. The initial song wasn’t available on streaming services, which led some to speculate that it was A.I.-generated. However, when a mastered version of the song was released, and Drake mentioned it on social media, people became convinced of its authenticity. A week later, Drake officially dropped his diss track “Push Ups” on all streaming platforms.

Meanwhile, a fan claimed to have made an A.I. Kendrick Lamar diss track, which confused fans in thinking that K-Dot really responded to Drake.

As the technology advances, it’s becoming difficult to tell real songs from those that have been computer-generated. For rap fans, the introduction of A.I.-generated songs in the Drake and Kendrick Lamar rap battle have diminished the excitement and authenticity of the event. And that’s not good for hip-hop.
