Welcome to the 6th edition of TWIB’s Weekly Top 5 Videos. This is a segment where we will be looking at some exceptional visuals from various acts from around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades and through the 90s and 2000s, it has really taken flight from multi-million budget music videos, mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but rather highlight some of the creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

King Lal – “LIFELINE”

King Lal opens up this week’s list with “LIFELINE.” A solemn piece that explores the concept of being true to oneself and helping the people around you. The visual has a straightforward style and makes use of angle shots, well-timed cut scenes, and a lot of performance shots to match.

 

Dax – “GRINCH GOES VIRAL”

 

Dax goes wild in  “GRINCH GOES VIRAL,” where he embodies the spirit of the Grinch who becomes obsessed with the rat race and the dopamine rush. The visual has a moody and cinematic feel and as usual displays Dax’s energetic performance style and use of motif-driven visuals to drive home his messages.

James Francis share visuals for his song “Jezebel & The Nebula.” The visual has a psychedelic feel and makes use of solid performance shots layered with engaging visual effects and smooth transitions.

 

 

 

N01SES – “Money On My Mind” Feat. Godfather Rito

N01SES and Godfather Rito team up for “Money On My Mind”. The song is about how life gets in the way when one is trying to do the right thing for those around us. The official video directed by Jason Charles Lucero is as cinematic as it gets and follows the troubled lives of the rapper as he tries to make a sense of it all.

“Money On My Mind”  is the 2nd single from the upcoming EP Count Your Blessings available via Blossöm Records.

 

 

 

 

Flyght Club x Brandt – “Quaalude”

Flyght Club and Brandt team up for the emotional record titled  “Quaalude.” The track has a solemn and reflective feel and tells a tale of regret after hurting a loved one. The visuals by Michael Morones are quite vivid and depict the entangled lives of some individuals caught up in a thick web of deceit and life-threatening situations.
