SiDizen King and WES PERIOD pump up the positivity in “Sugar Lemon Tree”

SiDizen King was born to an Angolan mother who brought him to the US to escape her war-torn country. The youngster found music as a way to express himself and quickly gained an audience as he rose up the ranks in the SoundCloud era giving listeners a taste of his hybrid musical taste that blends electronic pop, and hip-hop with a dash of soul. He is currently working on his sophomore project and in the interim, shares his lead single “Sugar Lemon Tree” (SLT)—a sunny anthem about finding joy in the face of adversity and uncertainty.

The record sees SiD teaming up with fellow LA-based artist Wes Period over breezy whistles, triumphant horns and buoyant production courtesy of Sean Cook (Duckwrth, DRAM) and GRAMMY-nominated McKay Stevens (jxdn, Kaskade). The uplifting record is an aspirational tune ripe with heartfelt lyrics that implore listeners to find silver linings even during cloudy days. Armed with his smooth flow and carefree melodic runs, SiD delivers an alluring and memorable performance that listeners can appreciate.

In his sophomore effort Sid teams up with Grammy-nominated songwriter/producer, McKay Stevens, to share a message of self-discovery, hope and perseverance. Sid also enlists the help of talented friends spanning the musical gamut including Shoffy, Brandyn Burnette, Molly Kate Kestner, The National Parks, Wes Period, Joshua James, and Sego.
