Jones goes for a sublime aesthetic on “Read My Mind” [Video]

UK singer/songwriter JONES is back with a new single “Read My Mind” and its accompanying performance video to boot. The track sees her working with the producer/co-writer co-writer Oli Barton-Wood who builds a mellow acoustic guitar-driven soundscape for her to share her candid thoughts on her expectations of love.  JONES sure delivers the goods and her sultry melodic vocals take center stage over the soft percussions and soothing textures as she details what she truly wants from her man.

The performance video is quite succinct and focuses on JONES performance style which is expressive and engaging. “Read My Mind” displays what to expect from her forthcoming Blue Sunshine EP which is scheduled to drop next month.

The EP features collaborations with Nardeydey(NérijaMaishaSeed Ensemble) and new jazz pioneer Joe Armon-Jones, the EP is atmospherically perfectly in tune with its title. It finds JONES adding subtle touches that reflect her admiration for Steve LacyHNNY, and Tame Impala to flavors inspired by her long-term influences Whitney HoustonStevie Wonder, and Bob Marley. Next month will also see JONES return to the stage with a high-profile show at the Summer By The River Festival on September 16th. Hosted by BBC Music Introducing in London, the show will be held at The Scoop by City Hall on the Southbank of the Thames. The station will also be broadcasting highlights from her set.
