Foluú tackles the powers that be on “Youth [Sọrọ Sókè Freestyle]”

Emerging UK based Nigerian rapper Foluú takes to task the current Nigerian government on his new politically-charged single “Youth [Sọrọ Sókè Freestyle].” The title is a reference to last year’s youth-led nationwide protest across several states in Nigeria and sees the rapper delivering a vivid lyrical diatribe over a percussion-driven trap backdrop. He gives an account of the situation on the ground where Nigerian politicians and religious leaders continue to oppress the masses with unfavorable laws and policies while fattening their pockets.

The term ‘Soro Soke’ is Yoruba for ‘Speak Up’ and the song intends to inspire others to use art and music to speak up and say what’s on their mind. Even to hold the current administration accountable.
