Norman Sann returns to our list with “4eva”, a soulful love-laden tune that showcases his singing prowess. Over a soulful backdrop made up of choral vocals, reflective keys and punchy drums, he muses on the love of his life and despite the ups and downs, he will be down for the count.

Dwayne Chess From Sackman St‘s “Eyes Closed” is a candid track that sees the rapper reflecting on life, various experiences that shaped him and the unpredictability of this thing called life.

 

 

 

Young YoGi – “Soundwaves”

Greenville south Carolina-raised emcee Young YoGi drops off “Soundwaves”, a soulful and sombre tune that dives into the concept of being true to one’s true nature and not riding the bandwagon like everyone else. He makes use of a moody and vocal driven backdrop to share his thoughts on the subject and reminds us that he is following his own path regardless of the craziness around him.

 

 

 

Eli Jones – “I’ll Go If You Ask”

 

Bay Area rapper Eli Jones makes our playlist with his new effort titled “I’ll Go If You Ask”, over a bouncy and moody backdrop, he puts his foot down in a fledgling relationship as he realizes that he is somewhat strung off this toxic female and he tries to find his way from the darkness engulfing him.

K.BRock – “Sho’nuff”

 

K.BRock taps into the spirit of the legendary Sho Nuff for this eponymous song titled “Sho’nuff”. Backed by the punchy and cinematic backdrop, he delivers a wide variety of flows that ebb and rise and his vivid lyricism is well crafted too.

 

David Dilin – “Favor”

Emerging rapper/songwriter David Dilin digs deep in his new release “Favor”. The track is reflective and dives into his daily struggles and tribulations and how he weaves through the madness in his own unique way.

 

 

 

Willy Da Funky Kid x Jerome The Prince – “Larry Bird”

 

Willy Da Funky Kid and Jerome The Prince pay tribute to the legendary “Larry Bird” in this new song. The duo take time to share their love for the game while pouring adulations on one of the greatest basketballers ever. The duo delivers a blend of insight and bravado-laden bars that also reflect their hustle and sacrifices as emerging rappers.

 

 

Basic Vocab – “Nighttime”

Basic Vocab‘s “Nighttime” is a chilled boom-bap tune that sees the rapper in storytelling mode. Backed by the ethereal and sublime backdrop, he takes us down to his neighbourhood and the unpredictable events that occur at night.

 

 

 

Broughton – “Of Course”

Broughton ‘s new release “Of Course” is the outro off of my new tape Idle Place. The track is bolstered by a punchy trap backdrop and once again showcases the rapper’s unique drawl and edgy lyrical schemes.

 

 

 

BENNY OKOTO – “Save A Laugh”

BENNY OKOTO drops new single titled “Save A Laugh”, a heartfelt melodic tune that showcases his versatility and expressive musical style. The backdrop is atmospheric and somewhat moody and the lyrics are vivid as well.

 

 

Prvnci – “Problems With”

 

Prvnci‘s “Problems With” is a relatable tune that talks about dealing with inner troubles and finding one’s true North. He employs a punchy and somewhat off-kilter backdrop to share his thoughts and delivers a fiery performance riddled with insightful gems.

 

 

Definitely Not Aliens – “Refresher”

 

Experimental artist Definitely Not Aliens makes their entry on our list with “Refresher”, a dance-infused track that also serves as a refreshing tune for the dancefloor. The concept is instructional and blends sexy vibes into the mix as well.

 

 

Coco Peila x MADlines x RyanNicole – “I Am Jane Roe”

U.S.-born, Bay Area bred Hip Hop & Alt-R&B artist Coco Peila has teamed up with multidisciplinary artist Aïma the Dreamer and GRAMMY®-nominated multihyphenate creative RyanNicole for a forthcoming EP. The lead single from the aforementioned project is the stunning and insightful track titled “I Am Jane Roe”. The upbeat and punchy track sends fiery shots at the government while discussing issues relating to women.

“I Am Jane Roe” the single is a part of the #IamJaneRoe social media campaign– a Black Female led liberation project that raises awareness and activates frontline communities and key stakeholders around abortion access, reproductive justice, and the U.S. Supreme Court’s overturning the landmark ruling Roe v. Wade through a Hip Hop-driven, musician and influencer social media challenge, EP, and accompanying audiovisual release campaign.

The title of the campaign was inspired by Jane Roe an alias given to Norma McCorvey, née Norma Lea Nelson, American activist who was the original plaintiff (anonymized as Jane Roe for her protection and privacy) in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade (1973), which made abortion legal throughout the United States, stating that during the first trimester of pregnancy a pregnant woman did have the right to have an abortion “free of interference by the State.”

 

 

 

Krohme x Bobby J From Rockaway x Kwame x Chris Rivers – “Anti-Social”

Prolific producer Krohme rallies up the best lyricists in his new single “Anti-Social”. Over his rousing and dramatic backdrop made up of moody vocal hums and shouts laced with rich guitar riffs, he calls up the verbal skills of  Bobby J From Rockaway, Kwame and Chris Rivers, who all deliver solid performances ripe with edgy bars.

 

 

 

AR – “Gawd Talk”

Independent rapper AR is not resting on her oars as she lunges forward with a new release titled “Gawd Talk”. Bolstered by heavy rock guitars and punchy drums, AR goes the whole nine with her fiery bars and impassioned flow.

 

International Mack x Lakeith Rashad – “Roses”

“Roses” is the newest single from Syracuse, NY-based Filipino rapper International Mack who links with vocalist Lakeith Rashad. Over the soulful and sombre backdrop made up of smooth textures of piano riffs and reflective strings, the rapper talks about how life can change at a moment’s notice and why he prefers to get his accolades while he can feel them and not after.

Degray – “Voids”

Germany-based artist Degray shares his new single “Voids”, taken from his eponymous album coming soon. The track is as cinematic and experimental as they come as Degray crafts a non-comformist backdrop for  Rioux V’s gripping performance.

 

 

Henry the Poet x Xiio Damiron x Isaac Hernandez – “ARS POETICA”

Henry the Poet , Xiio Damiron and Isaac Hernandez join forces for “ARS POETICA”, a rousing rock/jazz infused record that showcases a blend of lie instrumentation with fiery rap performances. The backdrop is crafted by Afro-Dominican Jazz guitarist/producer Isaac Hernandez, and bassist/producer Xiio Damiron while Henry The Poet rips the microphone with his commanding flow and vivid lyrical schemes.

 

 

Wahyo x Spliff x Biz – “B Lunch Freestyle”

 

Flint Michigan-based rapper/producer Wahyo teams up with Spliff and Biz for “B Lunch Freestyle”. The track produced by Wahyo makes use of a classic sample and the way he flips it is ridiculously dope. The emcees involved all deliver the goods with their unique perspectives on the topic that dwells on life in general.

 

Got Damn Samm – “Who (Talk Dine)”

Rapper/producer Got Damn Samm pours out his heart in the new single “Who (Talk Dine)”. The self-produced record has dreamy and cinematic textures that blend perfectly with his vivid bars that dwell on the journey of a man trying to make his way through this unpredictable world.

 

 

IM’PERETIV x CHAYNA ASHLEY – “Any Means”

Producer, rapper duo IM’PERETIV and CHAYNA ASHLEY share new single “Any Means”, a hard-hitting tune ripe with a gripping vocal sample and sparse crunchy drums. CHAYNA is in her element as expected and delivers a blend of insight and hardbody bars that lovers of rap would appreciate.

 

Rev The Artist – “Money Calling”

Rev The Artist links up with veteran Philly emcee Peedi Crack for this anthemic tune titled “Money Calling”. The record is bolstered by a rock guitar riff and heavy drum arrangement and it’s pure bravado on wax as both emcees go for the jugular with their unique rap styles.

 

Dubziano – “Off Safety”

Dubziano closes out the list with “Off Safety”, which serves as the second single from his new LP That Night on Vernon BLVD. The track has a dark and cinematic feel and uses a punchy drum groove while Dubziano goes off and pours his true thoughts on wax. His go-getter mind state is pronounced and he even sends stray shots at the naysayers and the man.
